Beating Florida Comes Down To...

I wasn’t impressed with UF’s performance lastnight seeing how much hype was going into them preseason. Regardless though, if we want a chance at beating them our offensive line needs to hold up or else we’ll get destroyed.

Beating Florida comes down to one thing. 1. One step drop, chuck the ball in the air (anywhere), Florida’s DB’s will get an interference penalty, then repeat for entire game.

1.The team that makes the fewest mistakes wins.
2.Play and make the breaks happen, when they do......Score
3.If the game goes against you,put on more steam
4.Protect the kicker,QB and the lead
5.Ball,oskie,cover,block cut and slice, thats the winning edge
6.Press the kicking game where the breaks are made
7.Carry the fight to florida and keep it there for 60 minutes

It seems we have known all along how to win, its gonna boil down to execution and guys doing their jobs

I must have not been watching the same Florida team yall watched. If JG stands back there and holds the ball like he usually does, the Florida game will be a long long night. Florida's defense is very good in my opinion.
Dude, stop with the BS myth that Guarantano only ever holds the ball too long. There are times when it appears he does, but there are also times when he’s holding it to allow the play to develop/his receiver to get open. He took less than 2 sacks per game last year while playing behind the worst OL in college football....same one that allowed the least amount of time for him to throw than any other SEC school.

I’m watching last year’s Tennessee-Kentucky game and JG’s quick and efficient and getting the ball out on time.

Keeping their Front 7 on their heels.

It's always the case.

1. Short slants and ins on 1st down.
2. QB bootlegs.
3. Screens and draws.
All that sounds good, mix it in. But if you can’t stretch the field with some regularity pretty early, they’ll adjust, walk their safeties down and defend all that fairly easily. Gotta be able to stretch the field.

Looks like all it takes to beat florida is minimizing mistakes, that was a sloppy game last night and it looked like neither team wanted to win.
It's a game 1 sample right now.

They may not be the 8th best team in the country right now but them seem to tighten up the sloppiness by the UT game.

They both did their best to make it entertaining.

I'm gonna go with not giving them the game. That's what has irritated me the most over the past decade and a half. We be whoopin' day azz, then it all falls apart in the 4th quarter.
Last year it fell apart from the coin toss.

Yea...those TEN SACKS were simply pathetic.
Sheeesh...if our offensive hasn't improved A LOT over last year, Guarantano is in for a VERY long night.
Gators got to Miami QB a lot but there were several plays where QB tried to make a play that was not there and got sacked...………...……..

UF's defense remains a solid piece of their football team. I did not see a single LB of their's consistently be "the man" out there like we often see. I saw their #51 get run over, around, and through multiple times. Franks as their QB is one of those QBs more often lucky than good yet he believes his own swag. He's a turnover machine in waiting.

Beating UF comes down to the hope that UT's now experienced and large OL can perform better than Miami's mess. On the other side, if you pressure Franks he'll get stupid. If you do it enough, he'll give you the game.

UT needs to run the ball effectively in this game to set up the run. If they can't then UF will tee off like they did against Miami.

PS- I like UT's receivers against what I saw of their secondary. They're not as great as their billing.

If you need to test our secondary to win the game, then you have no chance. Your best bet is running the ball.

I've always thought that FL had an advantage on teams early in the season because they've practiced in hotter muggier conditions than most teams. I'd much rather play FL late in the season.
