Kelly continued to fight with two bouncers and stated "I'm going to go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place," according to a report.

Buffalo police officers responding to that alleged threat stopped a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck in which Kelly was a passenger at 458 Pearl.

Kelly was forcibly removed from the vehicle, officers said. Police said Kelly kicked and tried to swing at officers as they removed him from the vehicle. They said he resisted getting into a patrol vehicle and struggled with staff at central booking.

Chad Kelly played in all 13 of Old Miss's games in 2015. Timing may have a lot to do with that, as his incident happened in the middle of the 2014 bowl season. But googling "Chad Kelly Suspension -nfl -brother" (to take away results from his time on the Broncos roster and from his brother's football game incident in Oct 2016) doesn't produce any results saying he was suspended from Spring ball activities in early 2015.

Similarities in the situation:

Track records of maturity issues. Whatever BT's story with USC and at home in Irmo; Kelly getting kicked out of Clemson

Threats of mass violence.

Differences in the situation:

Chad Kelly physically assaulted people.
BT didn't touch anyone.

$wag was fighting bouncers a the club.
Bryce was arguing with his girlfriend in his dorm.

Not documented property damage with CK.
BT ripped a gate off its hinges.

----------------------------------------------

Both stories are bad. But which story is worse?

Granted, Old Miss and Hugh Freeze are hardly beacons of institutional responsibility. I'm not saying that BT should avoid suspension. But Kelly was celebrated in the media after knocking off Bama, and even after the October 2016 incident at his brother's game, people were resigned to "oh Swag Kelly's gon' Swag". But now we're ready to kick BT off the team for something that's (IMO) not as bad, with a track record that's far less concrete.

Doesn't he have like 3 years towards a UT degree under his belt? Why the heck would you not just get a degree? Community college makes no sense to me this far into college.

If he puts up big numbers, he could be drafted from JUCO. I've been to MGCCC many times and he's gonna be in for a big culture shock :):)

Again... it's absurd to base anything on an alleged remark by one person who claimed to have heard it, but didn't see who said it-- with said remark uncorroborated by others at the scene, including the alleged victim who was the closest in proximity the entire time. Facts. Evidence. They matter.

It’s possible he was admitted on stips due to his record before getting here. That’s why I am concerned with what his record was before getting to Knoxville

Why? What possible reason do you have to believe that?

I have been asking what the “issues” were in HS. If he has a history of violence against women then that’s very relevant. I don’t know details but recall there being something more than just poor grades.

Just because this poster listed a few street names, it doesn't mean he's not FOS.
Don't doubt that considering he was a gamecock. Probably wish I had the last 2 hours of my life back searching the dirty rabbit holes at sc forums and other places but it is what it is. Bumming me out a bit because of search finds like below but think I'll go enjoy this semicool wx we're having today and hope for the best for BT.

Someone explain the statement in bold above to me and how it holds up in court.

Obviously, something happened, but from all accounts, there was no physical altercation. Punish the kid for acting like a child. You don't speak to women like that, and you can't damage other's property. I don't think he should be removed from the team, but I also don't think he should escape appropriate punishment.

Also, does anyone else feel like this entire society has turned into a "guilty until proven innocent"policy? The world has changed in a very short period of time.

These type of things have become tricky for the institutions. You don’t have to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt to lose your scholarship. Scholarships are privileges. Sometimes, the mobs get out in full force when a school elects to keep a kid.

On the flip side, there has to be due process. You can’t just terminate a scholarship and kick a kid out of school without some showing of inappropriate behavior in violation of a code of conduct. Otherwise, the kid has a cause of action, and some have sued the institution.

Ernest Suttles was a football player at Memphis and just sued the university. He was initially charged with rape and dismissed from the team and school. Those charges were just recently dismissed, and he is alleging he received no due process when the school dismissed him. Slippery slope.

did we do our due diligence as well as the cocks but hope we could be a proper mentor. Football aside, even 1 week for what we have all been waiting for, if one ounce of what can be found on the Interwebs is true, Price just might be right....so sad if true !
Go away.

...Not a mistake they learn from. It's the way they are wired!

To be past redemption for an 18 year old, using language like, "it's the way they are wired"... Yeah, I'm gonna say this guy has his own biases that he can't see past. Whether it's his school colors or the color of something else.

Well, when you find any facts or evidence, let us know.

Were your ancestors from Salem, by any chance?
