UNC created fake classes that basically passed anybody who entered and put all their athletes in them. However, the general student body could also enroll in these classes. My understanding is that the NCAA ruled that these classes didn’t count as impermissible benefits or “cheating” since the classes were available to all students (as opposed to only the athletes).



This seems more like a straight up case of a “tutor” doing the work for athletes. More like Mizzou’s recent situation than UNC’s.



All of it is a bad look and a bit of an inconsistent mess for the NCAA, though. Mizzou was a rogue tutor as well and they received a bowl ban, which Mizzou did not.

To your point though, part of the reason Dobbs was drafted was because of his physical tools and intangibles. He checks all the boxes there to be an NFL starter. He’s just not the most consistently accurate passer or decision maker. JG obviously isn’t the athlete Dobbs was and doesn’t have the same intangibles either, though.



IMO the big question isn’t whether JG can/will do enough to get drafted in 2020: the question is whether or not he’ll go ahead and take his chance becoming a pro regardless. You don’t have to get drafted for a team to bring you in as a camp arm. It’s not unheard of for UDFA QBs to end up hanging around as 3rd team/scout team QBs for a few years. JMO, but that’s about where JG’s upside tops out. And if that’s the case, then why not say what the hell and take your chances?

So after all that you still think JG is a better passer than dobbs👀🤷🏽‍♂️ To be honest they are the same but JG has a stronger arm and it gets away from him quit often but you’ll never see that because he doesn’t throw past the 10 yard marker.Dobbs being inconsistent on passing is a small issue that can be fixed with the right help from a good coach(small issue) it’s all mechanics with Dobbs ,JG doesn’t read a defense nor does he have mental aspect of the game when the lights come on.

Apparently that Defense is what they are holding on to saving them this year and the offense is supposed to be a lot better,the qb they have is supposed to be the truth.👀🤷🏽‍♂️

As just a passer jg as a sophomore was very similar to Dobbs as a junior. Dobbs of course added a lot in the run game but you said passer.

And that’s the difference JG will not progress behind this Oline unless they get better. JG has to get better also as far as reading a Defense,he isn’t mobile enough with a bad Oline and it’s been just as bad since Dobbs but Dobbs managed because of his feet which opened up the field for the passing game.im just tired of seeing the box loaded because they know JG won’t run and he doesn’t really have time to pass.the teams we play do not respect JG at all

Same kind of rule it allowed FedEx to hire all of the Memphis State basketball players. Since the perk was available to all students, it was permissible.

The Cam Newton thing couldn't have been any different because of a big can of worms issue. If the donation to Daddy Newton was illegal, what about all the donations to the Tebow missionary fund?
