So there I was...

At chickfila with my son, Peyton. He notifies me that he has to go to the bathroom. As we are walking to the bathroom, a police officer walks out of the bathroom and Peyton yells...

"EXCUSE ME, POLICE OFFICER.. DID YOU GO PEE OR POOOOOP?!?"

Me: 🤦🏼‍♂️ *sigh*

Maaaaan. It’s never safe to go out to town. We was coming back from the store & this dumbass lady driving with no headlights ran into two freaking calf’s. She had her pregnant daughter in the car along with her 4 year old granddaughter. This all happened in front of us, like we was going northbound and they was coming southbound & the story doesn’t end there.

This crazy ass old women came out of her car guns blazing right? Shooting these cows. I swear she shot at least 9 rounds. My wife went to check on one and it charged her because the women couldn’t aim worth a **** and she fired more rounds & she missed again causing the bullet to ricochet and graze my arm.

So all in all. Don’t ever go to Georgia!

Just now seeing this because of the podcast.

This is probably the hardest I’ve laughed in months.

Havent been on here much in awhile and forgot how ignorant the FF is sometimes. Made the mistake of questioning why its an honor for JG to be on the Johnny U watchlist when basically every single eligible QB is on this esteemed "Watch list" while not saying a single negative thing about him and only implying todays watch lists are a joke and ive been labeled as a straight up JG basher. Fun times.

No way we can know for sure. He played very well at Memphis. Dobbs improved tremendously every year and made a ton of plays. In that offense, Dobbs was much better. Dobbs ceiling was higher and I wish he would have had the same coaching that Ferguson got at Memphis. Oh, and Dobbs did not quit.
I agree but Dobbs was also not lied to like ferguson and even JG.

And considering where some other teams ranked, is this ranking really our biggest concern? See #65. #59 made the playoffs??

Tagging on Cat’s question. Last year in total yards, as he pointed out, against the run we were #52 in the nation. We were #60 in pass defense and #49 in total defense. We were #120 in redzone defense. WTH is up with that? Why such a huge disconnect? Scoring defense overall was at #77 so how much work do you guys think we're putting into our redzone defense this year?

My guess is a couple things. Most of our RZ defensive attempts were against our best competition (43/45 were vs P5 opponents). Yardage was greatly helped by absolutely awful ETSU, Charlotte, UTEP offenses. But to make it apple to apple, maybe narrowing the yardage rankings to P5 opponents makes sense.

Other thought is 120th in RZ is a rate. Others are totals. Since we defended fewer plays than most, it skews our total yards a bit. I also like focusing on TD RZ%, since you can't much control teams making FGs from that close. Poor 3rd down defense may explain some too. Of course, maybe we just stink at RZ defense, idk. But honing in on these things and the numbers make a bit more sense.

Vs P5 opponents:

Pass Defense YPA: 95th
Rush Defense YPA: 56th
Total Defense YPA: 76th

3rd Down% Allowed: 95th

RZ TD%: 92nd

Much of this aligns with our 72nd ranking by S&P+ (includes all FBS games). 69th rushing D, 87th passing D.

We allowed over 7.5 tackles for loss a game last year, which is 119th. How much should we jump up there?

Oof. We've only ranked better than 108th once in the past 5 years. Truly is a LOS league...

I'm going to say we break that mold this year for good.

Hope so, for all the struggles people want to blame JG for, the tfls are definitely the tell tale sign of the abysmal line play from last year. I believe i read a stat showing that we had one of the worst first down run yardage marks in the nation as well. Our rbs were basically getting met behind the line on a good percentage of plays and we were just hoping they could make somerhing happen. As crazy as it seems i honestly feel bad for the olinemen as well. I was a 250 pound, unathletic olineman who got thrown into the starting lineup my junior and senior seasons in highschool and as hard as i tried i wasnt able to keep my qb or rbs clean a lot of times. Its an awful feeling to try your best and fail and see your teammates youve bled and sweated with bare the brunt of the punishment and i think a lot of our guys were undertrained, out of place and just not strong enough to hold their own after years of Butch neglecting the S&C. Hopefully this season theyre in a better position to succeed.
