I've only been on here for less than 2 years, but I've pretty much every football-related post. I've never seen dissenting views discouraged. Now views that are repeated over and over again ad nauseum? Posters that appear to be ultra negative just for the sake of being negative? That's another story.

OTOH, it appears views that aren't in agreement with your negative ones are discouraged by you. See, it goes both ways.

Nah, I can discuss and disagree without trying to silence anyone.

I say positive things here too. They get glossed over or twisted to be negative. That’s fine, it’s the internet and it’s serious business.

When a book or movie becomes boring to my interests, I close it and turn it off. Why waste time?

Folks - 7 days till cfb kickoff. 14 till Vol kickoff.

I'm not sure yet what it will look like, but our Vols will once again field a respectable, skrong, disciplined team. We may not all jump through hoops at season's end together, but we also won't be ringing in a bowl game in Y7 of Butch and a class of 20 3-stars. We will be doing so in Y2 of a great staff and seeing another top-10 class come through.

We are still climbing, but adventurers will tell you - the destination isn't the end all be all. The trip is. Enjoy the ride.

Just lost my grandma. Kinda relieved for her as the past couple weeks have been really rough. Glad we were able to convince her to come out here a couple years ago so we could spend a lot of time together and be there with her in the end. I'm gonna miss taking her to the grocery store every weekend and her sharp wit and unconditional love.

I’ve been busy all day and sorry to just be seeing this, Sleego. There are no words I can offer to ease the sadness and loss, just solidarity. I had a granny like that.

Prayers please. Called family in Thursday for my 47 year old cousin. Said 24 hours but she’s still fighting the big enemy called cancer which took her sister at 31. Three other sisters having to say goodbye. It will take a miracle but she’s a Tennessean all the way and will continue to fight till her last breath. Just hard on parents and siblings.

Prayers, I lost my dad to cancer when I was 15. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Hold on to those memories. I lost my brother last week as he couldn't overcome his battle with cancer. That's a nasty ass disease that need a cure. I've done nothing this week but look at pictures of us growing up over the years. He was only a year older than me and I miss him more than anything. Right now, life sucks.

So very sorry for you also. Prayers are with you and your family.

It's not the dissent. It's mostly the delivery. And the continued, never-ending, continuous, over and over and over, dissent.

To be fair it goes both ways. That's why they call it a debate. Your side of the debate, regardless of which side yer on, will see an opinion they disagree with and give an opposing argument. I just don't agree with someone who every post is trying to save me from my excitement. It's unnecessary. All I try to do is give reasons why I think it's okay to be excited. The people caught in the middle decide who presented the best points. Or go have a beer cause they're bored with it.

This is what I don't understand. Why do negavols seem to be surprised or defensive when someone has a different opinion?
