803 NW 1st street Fort Lauderdale Fl 33311
we are about one mile off 95 just off broward/ave of the arts heading east towards down town fort lauderdale
and yes, absolutely for Vols, we have 4 tv's one of which is untapped beer menu for our brewery tap list, the other three tvs are devoted to Games and if the Vols are on, we will absoultly be on at least one 50 inch screen. You can bet that brotha!

I literally sent a mass text to all my siblings and there significant others about this. I’m super pumped to come try out your place bud! I’ll make sure to wave you down when I get over that way.

YES. YES. Thank god it's not just me. My wife (from a tOSU family, I'm working on converting her) always laughs because the same thing always happens. It's become a running joke. I'll get jacked up to see another Vol here in metro Atlanta and say just a simple "Go Vols man!", just to have them go "mm-hmm" or "yup" or just smile or half smile, or even laugh. What's up with that???? What the hell is wrong with some of you people? I would say this happens 8 or 9 out of 10 times, no exaggeration.

You are not alone, Kahuna. To you I say, "Go Vols!"
I think you re being a little sensitive

So I am a die hard vol living in Florida and obviously we get a lot of tourism in my parts. I always enjoy when the Tennessee crowd makes it down for the summer and I can talk some Tennessee football with a fellow fan. But sometimes it doesn’t always work out like that. I love Tennessee football, so naturally when I see someone sporting a vols hat or T-shirt I say “go vols”. Recently I have had a lot of weird responses like “thank you” “Yupp” and I also got a blank stare. If someone random saw you and said go vols what is your response? I’d hope you’d greet with a “Hell right brother” or a simple “go vols” in return.
P.s.
Go vols

I always say Go Vols.

Was at PCB in July and was always wearing a UT hat, and I lost count of the number of times, either in the hotel, at a restaurant, or on the beach, that I got a "Go Vols!" or something of that nature.

Where are you in Florida? I am in Tampa.

I have had that happen to me a few times.
The best course of action when you run across people like that would be to call them a racial slur that is not even their race and then give them a swift kick between the legs.:D

A couple of months ago we were pulled over on the side of the road and looking out over the scenic Oregon Pacific coastline. We were the only car there. Some guy is coming the other way, pulls off, and.comes rolling up slowly. I'm like, what's up with this dude? He gets out, and says "nice hat." Then I notice he was wearing a Tennessee shirt. He had somehow spotted the Power T on my Smoky Gray Nike Dri-fit cap and pulled over. They were a nice retired couple from Knoxville, like us. We exchanged Go Vols and discussed football, Butch, CJP, travel tips and the fate of the world for about 45 minutes.

I give a "Yes sir" or a "Yes Ma'am" back to those who say "Go Vols" in passing. I don't want to sound like we are copying those turds from Bama with the whole "Roll Tide" "Roll Tide" thing. My Wife and her Family are all Alabama folks so I have to hear it all the time. And yes, I know, What in the world am I doing married to a Bama fan? But she chose me. All I did was ask. Don't worry, all four of my kids bleed orange. We also live 20 minutes for Athens, Georgia so The Dawgs are more hated than anyone else in my world.

And the angel did pour forth the contents of his bowl, and the sky and the waters did take on the hue of orange, and the innocent children were clad in raiments of white and orange and became joyous, and the adults around them did see these wonders and take heart in them, but the few who were clad in clannish hues of crimson, red, black, and blue did see the world fearfully and wailed aloud for the judgement they expected to come.

I went to the FEDEX ST JUDE WGC in Memphis with a couple buddies who are not VOL fans.. Of course I was decked in my VOL attire..By the time we got in and got to the 1st tee we had heard over 30 times GO VOLS...My buddies asked if they were gonna have to listen to that all day and I said hell yea...GO VOLS....
GO VOLS was said hundreds of times that day..what a great day...

With the increases in open hostility and killings these past few years, I can understand if one or a few folk don't want to make a loud declaration of their allegiance to UT in "foreign" environs. It's sad, really.

When we travel in large numbers, may our generous and genial spirits reign, may we welcome our hosts as we would be welcomed as guests, may we brighten spirits with our humble, assured devotion to the Vols and willingness to embrace with good will those who are not so blessed. May peace and joie de vivre envelope us and all who are in our company. Hear me, Lord. Amen.

Good job with the grand youngun. My son has two boys, 6 and 4. They live 5 blocks from Vandy to be close to my son's job. They have been inlfluenced by the other grandparents who live in Memphis and who have taken them to U of Memphis football and basketball games and Grizzlies games. Clearly I have work to do.
My daughter and her 11 month old, see my avatar, will need my attention in the coming years as his other grandparents are split between Bama and Georgia.
You and me both, my grandson and grand daughter are being brought up in a Florida Gator family. They are already doing that friggin chomp thing....Love my grand children cant stand that chomp.

Funny you mention it. Last two times we went to Disney, and I saw Vol fans, I got almost zip when I would say, “Go Vols!”

If I'm at Disney and I see a fellow Vol, I don't hesitate to respond or call out "Go Vols". I'm also, at the very least, wearing a Vols cap. If I don't respond, it's one of two things...I have already passed you by 100ft when I realize what was said or I didn't hear you the first time. Love wearing my Vols gear at Disney...even sweeter when we've beaten any team from Florida in any sport.

Many years ago we were walking down Duval St. in Key West. I was wearing an orange UT cap. Coming up behind me, I hear "wish that I was on ol' Rocky Top..."

Kind of on the reverse side of this story! I was in St. Augustine earlier this summer with my family and had a GO VOLS from someone in the restaurant we were eating in. We go down there for vacation at least every other year and have had this happen on multiple occasions. I always give a big "GO VOLS!" back.

Have never experienced someone just saying “yup”. Most recently in St. Pete had lengthy conversations about Vols with a fellow UT fans. If someone blows you off, then 3 things are possible. 1) Not a true fan 2) Having a really bad day or 3) Just an azzhole.

I actually did this the other day. We were on vacation and the final day I had on Vols gear. In a restaurant a waiter walked by and said Go Vols! It caught me by surprise and what I wanted to say was Hell Yeah! Go Vols! What came out was a confused semi yell “Yeah!?”

I'd grin, give a thumbs up, fist pump, and a dual forefinger point at them. Those that appreciate it grin back, dual point me back, or fist pump me back. A few yell a "Go Vols!" at me. But I must admit if I see Vols fans first I just smile and walk by. Sadly, and I don't blame Vols fans who seem snotty. You just don't know what people will do these days. Most Vol'ers I see nowadays act as if they don't see me even when you have a prominent Power "T" shirt or other obvious Vols stuff on. I don't fault them. So much spite and worse now, maybe like me they have found it best to do what momma said, "Don't talk to strangers." Sad that things have come to this.
Turn your tv off, and get out more Woodman. The world is not as bad as you seem to think. When we become afraid of each other the enemy wins. I’ve made a point to smile and speak to people these days that I would not have in the past. The vast majority of the time it’s well received. I know it’s been good for my heart.

Ok guys I have a confession and may have my fan card revoked for this one. I was walking around with my Atlanta Braves hat on with the big cursive A and had some hillbilly say roll tide to me. I did quickly explain to him that it was a Braves hat and I’m a die hard Vols fan.

Haven’t worn the hat since.
