I think I'm on the same sort of boat as @ChattaTNVol last year I saw a few examples of what the team was capable of (Kentucky & @ Auburn). But Pruitt was a first year HC who was trying to also be the DC and unfortunately also was having to be involved as OC. That's a lot on the plate of any seasoned coach, I don't want to think about how difficult a first year HC would find that task.

So the solution, the AD says "who do ya want?" and pays the money to get an OC you can fully be hands off with. Then you bring in a DC who may not have a history as a play caller but is someone that will be of a similar philosophy and mindset to Pruitt. Leaving Pruitt to do what he's supposed to be doing, Head Coach. He knows his players better, knows his staff better, and that builds trust. You want a team of 18-22 year old young men to play at max effort? You need them to trust you.

There's a specific set of Roman Numerals this makes me think of.

I believe there is actually a limit on the number of official visits a school can host in an academic year.
There’s something like 140-something officials and they greatly increased the actual number of days you could potentially host a recruit. Ole Miss gave up like 40-something officials they could give this year and like 17 days. Thing is, it’s all so complicated and sensitive no compliance department is going to let that sort of info out in the wild.

So we should get ready to compete for the East this year? Better buy those tickets after all.....

And he thinks the DL isn’t college football ready yet. The same concern many have already.
Yes. I don't call someone a negavol because they have concerns. I think all coaches are "negavols" at heart because they want to constantly improve. I am just saying that I trust his appraisal more than pretty much anyone who has ever posted on here.

Does anyone know how many official visits a D1 school can allow per recruiting year? or is unlimited? I know that a prospect can take 5.
From the 2019-2020 NCAA Division I Manual:

13.6.2.3.5 Football. [FBS/FCS] In football, an institution may provide 56 official visits an annual basis (August 1 through July 31).

Oh, no! Our lights blinked on and off a few times. A tree usually knocks lines down here everytime it storms so I was expecting it. Up here in the higher elevation it's nowhere near that hot, but I was dreading it. Hope they get it back on quickly.
Have the same issue here at Picwick, seems the power is off once a month.. Trees falling down is a big problem..

If the rest of the team is as improved as we hope, but the DL is the one weak unit, is there a way for us to over come / mask that key weakness, or will that kill our entire defense (and thus our chance at a decent season)?

Assuming Solomon is not cleared.

Man. Ronald, Albies, who’s been tearing it up, Swansy if he can keep up what he did in the first half, Riley if gets it together and is the future 3B, add Pache and Waters to the OF at some point. Soroka, Fried, Anderson, ?? Figure the bullpen out!?
Lot of ifs there. Some will pan out, some won't. I do hope the Braves win the East.

the back 7 will make the DL look good. There will be a lot of coverage sacks this season. The linebackers and secondary will mask some of the pressure problems that we may have.
