They may very well win 6 games, but there is a lot that is different this year. Easier schedule, two All American talents at cornerback that are sophomores instead of true freshmen, two 5 star tackles, two 5 star LB’s, stronger players, a new DC that allows our head coach to focus on other things, and a veteran OC who knows what he is doing. Other than that, I guess things are the same.

All that potential is meaningless until they go out and prove it on the field. This team is young, inexperienced and unproven on both lines, and that’s a formula for disaster in the SEC.

All that matters is winning on Saturdays. UT won’t know much about what kind of team they have until they play Florida.

You can look great getting off the bus and in warmups but if you get killed by a inferior talented Vanderbilt team all those 4 and 5 stars next to your name are meaningless.

Stars certainly don’t equate to wins on Saturday.

From Atlanta Vol on Aubrey Solomon:

A very wise man once told me...if at first you don’t succeed....try again.

So the NCAA denied and TN appealed. Guess this is the reason its taking so long
My guess would be that most requests would be initially “denied”

It will be up to the school as to if they want to put forth the time, money, and resources to push the issue. TN obviously does. If Solomon has any resemblance of a legitimate case, I’d wager that TN ensures he gets approved.

My guess would be that Pruitt conceding Gibbs, his vocal support for the NCAA and the transfer process, TN has cooperated, helped and not attempted to stop any of its transfers away from the program is all part of the plan to get Solomon approved. Showing UT is bought in and fully cooperating.

A lot of moving parts to a situation like this. The only hang up I could see, is if Michigan and Harbaugh are not cooperating and calling whatever Solomon and TN’s basis of the waiver a lie. That would put the NCAA in a pickle and things could be getting dirty behind the scenes between the two universities. If it a negative situation, with any truth, then Michigan would be wise to concede to avoid the situation coming to light.

If TN and Michigan can make the choice easy for the NCAA then the answer will be eligible.

Again this is speculation, but that is how I would expect this “process” to work.

Hammy and Hart were like trained assassins. Every time we had a chance to crawl back, they just took another kill shot. Amazing the program survived.
Perfect 😄

I kinda wish it had been intentional, at least that sort of thing backfires on occasion. Incompetence appears more dangerous than sabotage.

Say if Trey Smith does get cleared and play and has a stellar season. Could he go as #1 overall in the draft as an OG.

Yea, but we don’t have the same players that have lost 3 straight times to Vandy. Neither do they. Stars and good coaching equate to wins. You must think Butch Jones is still developing these players.

(AV liked this post^)

Absolutely ridiculous that Solomon can’t get a waiver after all the other players who have. NCAA is a total joke of an organization. No consistency. Over-politicized.

Yep, the logical fallacy in so many arguments-- that a different team with different coordinators is going to have the same results.

This isn't even going to be the same team we saw in the spring. The players are going to be bigger, stronger, faster and better.

No I don’t but talk is cheap, I want proof the Vols are getting better and the only way to prove that is to win games on Saturday.

Maybe they look like SEC players, maybe they don’t but until I see the wins on Saturdays it’s just talk and hype.

It’s like Bobby Bowden always says, “everyone is undefeated in the preseason”.

So what your saying is, you refuse to believe that we are any better regardless of whose been added, how much they have gotten better physically, what new coaches we have added, how teams usually get better in the second year with new coaches, any reports by reporters, or anything else because you can't get beyond what happened last season and at the spring game. Okay

Should reclassify BVS as BIVS. Insanity.

That's the 2nd time you've said you're "waiting for results" but not 1 of your posts sounds like you're waiting.
