Tanks, ships, weapons might not get upgrades, but if we had an AF JCS, I could deluxe accommodations!
I had a ex sister in law that joined Air Force while I was in boot camp, she was an officer, while I wasn’t. She always reminded me that I would have to salute her, so I take shots at the AF when I can.
I’d go overboard saluting then. Turn the tables.
I spent 2 1/2 years as the Ops Clerk at Bragg. Our HQ was separate from the rest of the company. It was just me, the supply NCOIC, my training NCO, the 1SG, XO and Commander up there. I walked past the Commander in the parking lot one day, so I saluted. He pulled me aside and said if I ever made him waste both our times saluting when no one was looking, he would break me in half. He was a champion NCAA and US amateur wrestler, so I never saluted again!
Back in the 80’s, (86 to 90), Little Creek. You didn’t ever not salute outside, to a officer. I assume, the reservation is inside, or has it changed that much?Yea. A lot of officers hate it though, at least nowadays. Fortunately here at the Pentagon most places within the reservation are no hat, no salute areas
The Pentagon courtyard and all the corridor entrances are no hat, no salute. When I worked for NATO in Norfolk, I made it point not to be in uniform if I went on the Navy bases.Back in the 80’s, (86 to 90), Little Creek. You didn’t ever not salute outside, to a officer.
