The Well Armed Woman survey of 2017 showed women, on average, personally own 5.6 guns. Women aren’t just buying handguns, 26.39% of women polled purchased a long gun in 2018.

Women (as a whole) were slow to board the armed defense train but they've been hopping on quickly of late. I believe it's still the fastest growing market segment. This from 2016

A trained and armed female has the ability to defend herself with lethal force if deemed necessary.
Being trained and armed boosts self confidence and removes victim mentality mannerisms that criminals have stated they look for.

Ask some single women that live alone if owning and being trained in firearms makes them feel safer?

Interestingly enough that article makes no mention that the hubby got shot at or that either victim had a firearm for self defense.
