see, i look at the BYU game a lot like i did the 06 cal game. i think this team is pretty hungry, and kinda probably pissed off to be honest.I am bouncing between 6 and 7 wins - leaning more towards 7 at the moment.
Your point about replacing WVU with BYU is valid. However, that game still scares me. I think it’ll be close - and maybe being at home gets us through it.
Mississippi State is the swing game to me. We have more talent - and get them at home. There’s a pretty good chance they’ll be 4-1 and ranked in the top 20 for that game. Win that one and I think it might springboard us to 8-4 or 9-3. Lose and you’re looking at three straight tough losses and South Carolina might be able to capitalize on the downward trajectory.
Why in the world would you think Emmitt Gooden could leave early for the draft?Well if Gooden can get healthy and decides to stay one more year instead of going to the NFL draft that could potentially help us out a LOT next year, as our DL will still be lacking. We need to do better there. Im looking at you Rocker!
Really wish that MSU didn't have a bye week before the play us.I am bouncing between 6 and 7 wins - leaning more towards 7 at the moment.

I agree Bass. Good post. It's not a depth issue, it's experience we're lacking. We have plenty of DL on the team, they just need to practice, get better, and go play. And I have faith in our coaching staff and S&C coaches that these kids will play to the best of their ability. And with the DB group looking very good and extremely talented on the backend it'll help the DL greatly.
I'm looking forward to watching our ballhawking defense cause way more turnovers than we're used to which will allow the offense short fields to work with. Getting close to kickoff, boys!
you're not wrong..... but you'd like to be able to roate more than 6-7....right now we have 9. if we find ourselves w/only 6-7 to rotate at some point in the season, that's bad.Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the main objective of the 3 interior lineman on defense is to eat gaps and keep our LBs clean. If we can find 6-7 that can at least do that we will be fine. We don’t need gamechangers there (except it probably wouldn’t hurt). The added size, strength, and overall health compared to last year should help.
yeah, can't argue with that either. lol.I think thats a stretch. We don't have plenty of DL. We have 10 scholarship guys. One isn't eligible yet. One is in the transfer portal last we heard. A couple have bounced around to different positions since theyve been here (not including Kingston and Emerson). One hasn't played a game in two years.
I mean, I know you're usually as big of a homer as anyone - but the DL is a concern. It's a major concern if Solomon and Garland aren't available. And lets not act like there won't be more injuries to the unit.
I mean... I'm all for glowing camp reports but lets remember these guys see 8 minutes of practice. Call me a skeptic but I seriously doubt guys like Blakely won't get exploited when they come in the game.
Id venture to say that UA and UGA and uscjr - similar schemed teams - have more scholarship guys on their team.
Love the layout of those 3 games. One thing too about the DL and experience is that our schedule sets up nicely to get some before we hit the teeth of the SEC schedule. Seems valuable to have GA state and a tougher test in BYU, and then Chatt. before FL. More experience would be better of course, but that is a good setup in my eyes.
It was a competitive game and we had 2 int’s that didn’t go our way and we forced 4 fumbles they recovered. What if those balls bounce our way? Especially that fluke first TD they had. We’ll out-coach them. Have to hope our talent can compete with themAnyone calling the UGA game a automatic lose is fooling themselves. I just rewatched the game. We had Zero balls go our way and still had them 13-24 midway through the fourth.
