Great series/character. Reacher is blond, 6'5", 250lbs while Cruise is a 5'7", 150lbs with dark hair.

Child said:

“I based Reacher on a physical type of person which is huge and ugly,” Child said. “There was an English rugby player called Lawrence Dallaglio.

“Think of him in his peak. He was a big guy.

“There is a very iconic picture of him – a photo of him – and he’s got the ball in one hand, he’s got these giant hands. He is exactly the sort of guy you would not mess with. Because he’s big and he’s also rather brutal-looking, not that I would ever say that to his face.”

Looks just like Cruise if you ask me....

Thank you for posting this. Miscasting the role as Tom Cruise is a huge mistake. I am sure that the story is good, but I won't believe it because of the changes they had to make to account for Cruise's lack of .....physique. He should not be so arrogant that he could effectively play Jack Reacher because he is freaking small.

I have liked David's analysis in the past. But when he went on Sports Source and started associating with that bunch I posted on here my concerns, which most of you share. I want him to be realistic, however, if he goes full blown John Adams antagonist it is going to make his stay on the UT beat very short.
I did not realize he was on the Sports Source. That is one of the worst shows around. Why people watch it is beyond me. Pennington is as big a joke as a journalist as it gets. Do they still let Bob Hodge on the show?

Unrelated I know but Im bored & need yall's opinion - I interviewed for a new job 12 days ago and havent heard back from anyone and have sent out your typical Thank You email to both the hiring manager & HR rep. Time to move on?

Not quite. Some are just slow or you interviewed early in the process and they had a long list or had to wait to interview a person, or someone has to sign off on it and is on vacation. Lots of variables. Took a cpa firm just over 2 weeks to get back to me. You could also be like a 2nd choice and the first falls through. I would make 1 last attempt to contact in a week and then let it go after that. Persistence can pay off and really nothing bad comes from it. You may also gain valuable info as to why you weren't chosen or what they were looking for, even if it doesn't work out.

I don't doubt some were great performers, I'm just thinking of the full theatrical and visual experience, Flaming Lips doesn't hold nobody's beer imo. Just thinking of Dave...he may sound great, but there's really nothing special to his live performance.

But U2 is worse than Nickelback, slightly better than Imagine Dragons.

I saw Pink Floyd, it was surreal and I would have loved to see the Stones in the heyday but the rest...lol

I don't know, call me old fashion but if I'm there to watch a musician then I want it to sound good more than I want a laser show and stupid stuff like that.

Sevendust is an amazing live band, as is Chevelle. Foo Fighters definitely makes it a show though. But for me Tyler Childers at the Bijou with a few hundred people singing every song at the top of our lungs was pretty amazing for me.

Dave Matthews. ha. I guess if you are a douche bag in cut off jean shorts playing hackey sack during the show it would be ok.
DMB shows are awesome. Been to many. Never wore cutoffs or played with a hackey sack. Too busy drinking, smoking and doing my best white guy dance moves.

Only in Harlan Kentucky...

I just passed a huge new dooly pickup truck driving through town with a dead deer stuck butt end through the grill and dragging it's head along the road...😳

I mean how do you not know that? 🤔

In fairness, that might be the easiest way to get it home for butchering. I’m told the slow roasting from the radiator really ups the flavor.

That Childers show would have been fun I too like an intimate show, I loved being 5 feet from Father John Misty or grabbing Blitzen Trapper's set list off the stage after the show.

Foo Fighters are the most generic rock band ever, I will never get the love for those dudes.

Have you watched them live? If not I'd say hold judgement, because I'm of the same mindset with their studio albums. Most are solid to good, nothing "wows" me really about any studio album, but seeing them live I gained new respect. That whole band is just talented, they can play anywhere on the stage and all seem to be vocally gifted.

Also another lesser show I saw at the Bijou (surprise this is my favorite venue ever) was a Wednesday night when a buddy hooked me up with 2 free tickets, well they were 7 rows back in the center section, amazing seats. And was like being at a church service when the pastor has the whole congregation up and excited, The Lone Bellow fantastic 3 person group just good old Americana music. They harmonize better than almost any other artist I've seen and it's pure vocal talent. Not post production BS.

The type of talent that you'd stop to listen to on a crowded subway.
