Man being a dad is great. I can tell you’re excited about it; that’s a good thing. You’ll be awesome. So many deadbeat parents out there. Enjoy every phase and don’t rush it. Love seeing the day to day upgrades they go through. Sitting up for the first time, waving bye, etc. I like Cooper. What if it’s a girl?

Edit* Oh I see Summer. Good names there. If she is a she, Summer will melt your heart. My 4 year old and her random, “I love you dad,” gets me every time.

Kids name should be Peyton or Summitt. Otherwise, not true VFL.

He’s not perfect. I distinctly remember his 4th down call against Vandy in Kirby’s first year where Isaiah McKenzie took a toss sweep. The smallest guy on the field, and Vandy’s good LB stuffed it. Didn’t understand it.

But Chaney is light year’s ahead of what we had.

Yeah, I don't remember him having trouble making in-game adjustments. He had a tendency to move off the running game too soon when it wasn't working. Sweeps when he needed to use power like the play you described. I think all those years at Purdue gives him a tendency to go to mickey mouse football when the offense is struggling.

Concerning the secret recruiting forum, it wouldn’t be bad policy to change our RF the same way imo. They have already posted AV’s comments from yesterday. Kinda why I’m not a fan of any info that don’t need to be leaked; not because of forum fans but because if we can get info that easily, is it really a secret that needs to be told to begin with?

I was having a hard enough time with adults tweeting at kids. People visit each others sites I guess, whatever. But enough of them to chat about members here and know their avi's, reporting back and so on? Grown men that bark creeping around watching, that's like deliverance level to me.
And over kids coming out of high school, no less.

Just because they do it enough that it feels normal to them, doesn't make it normal. It's just weird.

Speaking of pressers - here's a rewind of Pruitt's opening press conference for last year's fall camp. It's actually pretty good. Pruitt seems to always try to tell the truth in his own way. For example, when asked about his expectation for the offensive line last year he said it would be interesting. He also said Helton "seemed" to have had success in his prior stops. I don't think he papered over the potential weaknesses we had last year and really I think it's largely consistent with how the season played out. Anyway, I had some time to kill and I thought it would be interesting to rewind to see how his opening camp presser from last year compares to his upcoming presser for this year's camp. jmo.

Today’s the day when official letters of intent can be sent for the early signing period, I believe. So all the kids are showing off the real life paper.

I mentioned last season the rapid growth we might expect due to having a real S&C program in place as opposed to other teams who were more established and experience more linear progression.

I’m starting to wonder if there is about to be an overachieving leap taking place with the way the team is looking. It seriously looks like we may be ready to stand toe to toe with most teams not named Bama and UGA

You have flung the door wide open for the "let's just try to beat Vandy and get to a bowl game" crowd. You will be admonished for raising expectations and setting Pruitt up for fan disappointment.

But when you're right, you're right. We're done with Butch Ball.

Thanks. It will be interesting to compare the two!

That’s my parents! Thanks for posting this! They are 80 and 81 years old and never miss a game home or away. Their house is a Mecca for Tennessee Football!

They are visiting me in Kansas this week...had to visit before the season started! I’ll be sure to show them the post.

That is awesome! Wasn’t expecting anyone to actually know who owned the truck, but never underestimate VN.

I was actually leaving Nashville when I saw them about a mile from my house, I’m in Knoxville now visiting my parents. When I got here I showed them the picture and they loved it. Very cool!

Where did you see them at? They live in West Nashville and don't wander too far from home that often unless traveling to a game.

I may be wrong..........but I think this kid is going to be a great UT quarterback.
I think he showed some up side in the spring game. The 2 interceptions threw some off but it was his 1st time in that atmosphere. Some just take a little more time to adjust but he was breaking records his final hs season.

Think him or Shrout one will end up getting their chance and winning several over.
