Be careful, I suggested that several coaches could be gone after this year because of this same reason (and others) and got blasted for it for no reason.
I read it as we're gonna win a bunch of games.. the end. Also, I didn't read AV's comments as him saying there would be internal issues such as discord or drama or anything like that if UT doesn't achieve their goals. I read it more Pruitt would make the necessary changes to make sure goals are met in the future, much like he did this past offseason.
Good. Glad Fulmer and Pruitt are in charge. They expect to win and in year 2 we should see substantial improvement in the W column.Anything less than 8 wins this year will be a major disappointment IMO. I do believe 7 or 8 wins is totally realistic. Will be trouble internally if this goal isn’t reached that I can assure you.
This. Too many Bruin takes stretching words. Also, I didn't read AV's comments as him saying there would be internal issues such as discord or drama or anything like that if UT doesn't achieve their goals. People who make a living covering the program are apparently reporting that there is trouble. Only one I've read was Basilio, but it sounds like others are reporting the same based on the posts on this site. This fan base is like a tanker full of nitro driving I20 from Birmingham to Atlanta. Every time we hit one of those seams between the concrete slabs might be a mini Hiroshima. Just how it's gonna be until we start winning again. But why do it? Start a narrative that there are issues when there is zero evidence of trouble? There may well be turnover...after the season...but then again they may win the NC and all get contracts for life. It just seems counter-productive to speculate about such things a few days before fall camp.
Let’s go enjoy some Vol ball, and leave the coaching changes until there actually are some. Particularly when you may be discussing that one position coach that a prized recruit has the key relationship with.
lol. it's funny, cause it's true. that stretch of hwy sucks.People who make a living covering the program are apparently reporting that there is trouble. lol. agree about basillo. and aside from that post in this thread, i've not heard or read anything about any discontent or unpleasantness on the staff. most of what i've seen/read has been the exact opposite.I don't follow Basilio, but it seems like he's happiest when raking muck. That said, if there is dissatisfaction with some position coaches, we should really be viewing that as a positive. It's clear that Fulmer isn't gonna accept crap, and clear that Pruitt takes that seriously...as evidenced by the Helton to Chaney upgrade.
But dang, this fan base is intent on getting on top of the nitro-laden semi and trying to time their sledge hammer strikes to the tank with the seams in the concrete.
Ha ha - yeah I agree. This is why the Tennessee job is so unattractive right now. You are basically on the hot seat from Day 1, and every major recruit in America is being told that by opposing coaches. So recruiting lulls relative to expectations. Then you gotta achieve defined win totals early with a subpar roster against a schedule that always includes a few national title contenders... all in, your program is probably third best in the division, probably sixth or seventh best in the conference - but the expectations match those at the top... it just chews coaches up and spits them out. Just a tough tough gig.
I read posts like that and my mind heads down a rabbit hole.... another coaching search where our boosters talk big but we wind up with our 10th choice, and then another 3-4 year rebuild... sheesh, count me out if that’s where this is headed.
Ah, Tennessee football. Where we all go to escape life’s troubles...!
I prefer to stay on the sunny side! Let’s get moving to fall practice.![]()
