Who here owns an insta pot and what are your thoughts?

I want a rice cooker because it’s such a guessing game in a regular pot. I hear insta pots cook rice great and I’m curious how y’all feel about the other meals

I wish I had bought an Insta Pot when I got my Bella pressure cooker, but I think they do most of the same things. (I thought the name Insta Pot sounded too gimmicky ~ like Tennshootoe.) :D

I hear pressure cooker and I think about the dangers of them 😆
I heard David Venable (of In the Kitchen with David on QVC) say that they are the same.

I take it that Instapot is a marketing ploy to displace the negative connotations that come along with athe term "pressure cooker".

It worked on HBPW.

Funny story....

When I was about 12 or 13, my mom was making mashed potatoes. She always cooked the potatoes in a pressure cooker on the stove. She'd take the pot to the sink and run cold water over it. Then take a fork and lift the ring of the top thing (whatever that's called). Well, one time, when she opened the lid it came off with such force that it blew potatoes all over the kitchen curtains and the ceiling. She wasn't hurt, at all, and kept using that pressure cooker. lol We laughed for years about how to starch kitchen curtains. lmao!!!

That's what I think too. But there are so many references to the Insta Pot, recipes and such. It feels like it'd be easier in that regard.

But if nothing else, I love Love LOVE my pressure cooker for hard boiled eggs. Put a steamer basket in it, add a cup of water, the eggs, and set it for 6-7 minutes. I've yet to have an egg that didn't peel beautifully, including fresh eggs. It's crazy.

HBPW loves her Instapot. Took her a little bit to get used to it. Shes cooked about everything in it, except rice. Sorry Bill.
