I hate the UF game. Hate everything about it. I hate watching the Vols play them more than I hate that team. Because outside of the second half in 2016, they always benefit from some inexplicable huge momentum plays or bad decisions on Tennessee's part or our worst performance of the year that just completely turn the tide.

2011: Hunter tears his ACL on his first catch
2012: Trey Burton goes 80 yards
2013: Peterman throws for -17 yards and 8 INTs
2014: Treon Harris Josh Dobbs'd us while the real Josh Dobbs sat on the bench
2015: Will Grier's steroid arm crushed our hopes and dreams
2017: Hail Mary loss
2018: UF didn't play that well but we played atrociously bad and made them look like the Patriots

Not to mention all the ridiculous losses throughout the 2000s and 90s.
Nice summary. I chuckled at the -17 pass yards. And treon harris was sooooooo bad at qb.

Not in the "we wont beat Florida" camp. I believe itll come down to the final drive.

In a way I'm almost glad that the UF game in 2018 was out of hand almost immediately. If we had lost another heartbreaker I would be convinced that Pruitt is also snakebit by them. But instead we just played terribly and got beat soundly. Hopefully Pruitt doesn't give a damn about UF and is calm and collected on gameday and that our players follow suit. I got the sense that Dooley and Butch (much like Fulmer) hyped the game up too much and it got into the players' heads.

Yes and yes.

It's hard to even say which game was the most painful. All of those you listed make a root canal sound fun.

Someone made a good point a while back about how bizarre it was that we never even "accidentally" beat UF since they've had our number going back to the early 90s. Every time we beat them it was because of some miraculous performances or last-second heroics AND we always had a really good team on top of that (or because they had Zook as their coach, and hell, he still beat us once).

They have tried to give us the win multiple times and we just handed it right back to them. If the games unfolded exactly the same way but the guys across from ours were wearing Kentucky uniforms, some of those games would have been blowout wins for us.

Ever since that 45-3 win in 1990, every win has been somewhat odd, but the losses have been even stranger.

1992 UT win in the torrential downpour.

1995 FL win going away after UT was beating them in the first half. (The reversal of the 2016 game)

1998 UT overtime win thanks to the UT defense (Al Wilson) forcing multiple turnovers.

1999 UT loss and that horrible 4th and 3 play call.

2000 UT loss after Jabar Gaffney's drop in the end zone.

2001 UT win as Travis Stephens ran all over them.

2002 UT fumbled how many QB center exchanges in the rain?

2003 UT win vs Zook, but had a Hail Mary at the end of the first half greatly help them take the air out of the ball in the second half.

2004 UT as Wilhoit redeems himself with the field goal for the win.

2006 UT gets messed over with that hands to the face call in JT Mapu that took a touchdown off the board.

All the way up to the games you listed. Something crazy has basically happened every year or every other year at the least for the last 30 years.

I grew up on a farm and had the job to feed some of our cattle in the afternoon/evenings. I went out to do my chores after seeing UT go down 35-0 and I was so mad I didn't know what to do with myself. I was also so mad, I forgot to turn off the electric fence around our bull's pen. So, down 35-0, I set a metal feed bucket on a strand of barb wire to crawl through the fence to feed the bull and was shocked and thrown back a good distance.

My hate for this series went to an entirely new level that day. :)
