True but I thought that was an all time bad performance from the entire rams offense. From QB to coach.

BB maybe would have won 1 SB without Brady but he was pretty mediocre and maybe even kind of bad until Brady took over. Jimmies and Joes mean more than Xs and Os

Impossible to say, depends on who the other QBs would have been of course. Having the GOAT no doubt helped a ton.

Ehh, but even after Robinson SA has been a juggernaut because they draft exceptionally well (Duncan, Kawhi, Parker, Ginobili, etc) and have a great culture/system in the building.

You have to draft well and then build a culture that makes your stars not want to jump ship.

I get what you’re saying about not really being able to attract big FAs but the key to the last few champs has been drafts/trades.

Kawhi wanted out. Trades are teams just taking chances on a rental type player.

I understand that drafting is important. But more and more, small market teams don’t have enough time to take advantage of a great pick after developing them.

Other than SA, I can’t tell you the last time one of the bottom 10 markets has played in an NBA finals. Memphis and Milwaukee have played in conference finals.

SA, Detroit, Cleveland, Miami, Orlando, OKC are all in the bottom half of the league market wise. Those teams have 18 Finals appearances in the last 15 years.

Teams in the bottom half have more Finals appearances the last 15 years than teams in the top half.
