We went through an atheist marriage conference entitled “Finding meaning together in a meaningless cosmos.”

Had side sessions on “Relating to your spouse while knowing their consciousness is just an illusion caused by lots of synapses firing at once” and “Remember, your children are fundamentally just clumps of biological material.”
I think I'd still prefer that one...

Alright, since y'all are asking me every day I'll tell y'all what happened. I do some guiding at the lakes down here in GA and I had one last week out on lake Seminole with some boys wanting to grab a big slaunch or two! Turns out our guy was in the group of 3 along with his dad an his uncle. I recognized him immediately. After I put him on his first bass, a 5 1/2 pounder, I was able to talk to him about recruiting. He told me that he had already committed and that he would be going public soon. But he also told me that he knows of more and he even mentioned their names! He said Sewell is in, Jarrett is in, Smalls is in! Man, I was fired up. He said he expects us to sign at minimum a top 5 class this year!!! Insider status: confirmed

Yeah.... none of that is true. VQ accidentally released his commitment video on their Vimeo on Tuesday. I went on there looking for the interviews from the rivals camp and saw it. It had been on there for 4 hours already. When I realized what it was, I messaged them and told them that they forgot to put it on private. They thanked me and took it down. That's why I was feeling good about it coming on Wednesday. But they have it ready for the guy to make his announcement. I overhyped this story, I know, but still, Insider status: confirmed.

Guys, I don't know how many of you have played ball before or how many are just fans. I would like you guys to tell me what you love about it so much.

I'll tell you what got me hooked. I was lucky in a couple ways. I got to play in college and get an education, but the thing I remember most about playing ball happened while I was in high school.

My Jr year, our kickoff returner/star rb hurt his ankle. They threw me in as the deep man for kickoff returns. I returned the kick about 50-60 yds against A-E. It was awesome, but I never expected the surprise I got.

You play ball and you always see people in front of you. Who are you gonna tackle? Who are you blocking? Etc. I never knew the freedom of seeing 60 yards of football field wide open, in the middle of a game, nothing but end zone ahead. It's such a weird feeling to see a completely empty field and know so many people are fighting behind you on both sides of the ball. Crowd goes silent in your head. You feel everything and nothing at the same time.

My first one, I got tackled before I scored. I was lucky. It's amazing how much that pisses you off.

Anyway. I do live vicariously through UT now, still chasing that high of seeing the big play.

Any of you morans know what I'm talking about?
First drive of my senior year in hs, 3rd and 4 from 29 and I take a bootleg 71 yards to the house. That getting tackled business is for the birds. 😁

somebody talk that ish?

5 fingers would have a conv with a face. Im all about some science but, stray too far in any direction and you lose your way.

We PAID to go to one. Dude starts the conference by talking about himself. Hours and hours go by, same result.

My best advice is to take it for what it is, someone on stage as a 'qualified authority' bc theyre marriage has lasted for 30 years. To me the people who have idealic marriages, dont have to talk about it.

We left the conference hungry and tired. I cant speak for my wife but, there were nuggets of good things. Im always in line to learn and grow, and, its always good to hear the Word. Ultimately they framed things to how we believe. It was a positive experience in that regard.

Selfishly, I would have rather done anything else than that, in that moment. Plus, no dinner?!? Apples and oranges dont cut it for what we paid.
The couple needed all available funds so they could ride separate limo’s.

We are too in December!

Congrats, serious. To both. No sarcasm.

Now, here's the sarcasm. Marriage is the easiest thing on Earth, there's never disagreements, and everyone is always even keeled. Hormones dont exist. IOW it isnt work.

It's exactly like a Nicolas Spark's movie.

Hey what are you guys doing I’m making my dog throw up because she ate one of these

My dog eats weird crap all of the time (including sometimes literal crap). I am amazed at his ability to set aside his tastes or preferences and just eat anything that happens to cross his path...including his own feces.

Meh, I just don't argue unless it's really important to me, turns out, that's a very small list. Same with my wife (boom!). Guessing we average about 1 a year.

Everyone's different but our "secret" seems to be both finding arguments annoying. Not gonna lie, having 2 laid back personalities makes things pretty darn easy.

Good lord. I’m at this Christian marriage conference. It’s fkn horrendous. The things you do for your wife.

I’m starting to worry about you lol. She been dragging you off to these things a lot lately. I’m hoping she isn’t getting ready to sacrifice you or something lol
