More likely just the last of the anesthesia clearing his system. Just as someone who’s had a few too many glasses is more likely to snore that night. The part of the brain that controls respiration is a bit too mellow.
They’ve got so many monitors on surgical ICU patients that it looks like a small launch to the moon. And I’m sure he has a nasal cannula (the thing with prongs in the nostrils delivering O2.)
