Just curious... How do they feel about Trump subsidizing the farming industry to help mitigate their loss from his tariffs? That is a form of socialism too, right?

I’d rather give “welfare” to those that work and are doing an important service as opposed to those that are lazy and sit on their ass. I’m sure you will spin it differently.

No, there isn't a huge divide between Republicans and Democrats about the need for some forms of socialism. We are a split between capitalism and socialism and have been for about 80 years now. Once again, see Trump subsidizing the farming industry during a trade war that he created. Spin that any way you want, it's a form of socialism.

Farm industry has been subsidized for quite some time. The libs are fine with it because they lump in some free stuff to buy votes.

... and Trump has dramatically increased the amount because he needs to win Iowa in 2020 to be re-elected and those farmers do not like his tariffs.

So true. The right acts as if it's a debate over capitalism OR socialism.
The obvious reality is the debate is about how much of each in various economic segments.
You would be hard pressed to find more than a handful of redhatters that would argue against the farm subsidies (socialism).

What they should do is just raise the prices and subsidize the individual consumer. That’s what libs are used to it’s just the money has to take a different route.

Being the athletic dead week, my son is free from football practice at his public school. We're going to hop on the interstate/highway system tomorrow and head down to the beach and visit a state park.

I think we should get back to the basics here. Harris's positions are terrible and she won't even make it out of the primaries. Her largest base will be the black vote and she won't even get 50% of that. It's the facts. Bootijudge won't register more than 2%-5% with minority voters especially if many moderate democrats know his, or her I guess, lifestyle.

Also 95% of the Trump supporters here do not agree with a lot of things trump foes and says...especially anything involving spending when YOUR DEMOCRAT CONGRESS passes budget after budget that exceeds incoming tax revenue already. We want a balanced budget. Every year. We want to cut spending about 25% ACROSS THE BOARD...no sacred cows. Military, entitlements, welfare state bullcrap, bloated and sometimes completely unnecessary goverment depts and agencies...ALL OF IT. CUT IT. CUT IT ALL

By the way...we all know our country isnt pure capitalism. That there are socialist policies already in effect that will never go away. Hell, the military and feds are both a form of socialism. They are necessary. The safety nets of SS and medicare are, too...though their necessity can be argued. We know that. Those things are a FAR cry from the outright socialism that the lefties are trying to do now...in every facet of our lives. That is an entirely different animal...and it is one that we just spent 50 years, thousands of lives, and trillions of dollars fighting the spread of in proxy wars and the cold war. What kind of morons go through all of that for 50 years to stop the spread of a terrible ideology...then just as socialism destroys yet another country...Venezuela....tries to get it going full force here at home???

Just enacting a fraction of the social agenda the Democrats are pushing for will necessitate higher taxes on the middle class. Typical of western European nanny states, workers earning around $40k per year face a marginal tax rate of 50%... (source: Fox Business News)... so half of every dollar one earns beyond that would go to the federal government. You can tax the 1% until they have nothing left and it still won't be enough to fund all this progressivism without higher taxes on anybody making more than $40k. This is the "fuzzy math" them Dems don't want to talk about.
