2020 Presidential Race

Given the format, she excelled more than the others.

Biden did what he needed to do. Passion, tempered by experience.

The rankings in the polls will likely see Biden remain on top. Harris and Pete will catch up to Bernie. Seems like Bernie will fade soon. Warren will advance but has limited upside.

Biden-Harris.

I just don't think that's possible, especially if the moderators continue with questions regarding racism in this country. The debates will become heated with Harris directing criticism towards Biden and his history, even though she tried to give him a pass earlier during the debate

Tulsi has a shot if she can get to the A list of candidates.
She is trying to parlay some time in the reserves in the medical unit to make her look like Audie Murphy. So is Pete. Neither was on the frontlines or fired a shot as far as I can find. I think that Pete was a driver for his superior inside the safe zone.

From what I read, she deployed once to Iraq and once to Kuwait.

If I was forced to vote right this second, it would be for Pete. I agree with a lot of his ideas, I like his message. He's articulate, respectful, a military vet, intelligent, speaks about 42 languages, he's only a few years older than me so we share a lot of the same concerns/values, plus he's center-left but not Bernie left. I don't agree with him on everything, but he is who I've sided with the most so far. Time to shake up the old guard.

It is still way too early though, glad I don't have to decide today. I like Pete, but I also like Kamala and Warren. Tulsi really impressed me last night, I need to research her a bit.

I just really hope Bernie doesn't win the nomination. I'm a never-Trumper, but I really don't want to have to choose between those two.

Orange man bad, screech, etc.
Don't know enough about Pete to have an opinion on him. Same for Tulsi Gabbard. Not a fan of Kamala as she seems like just another politician. Not sure how any one on the left supports Warren. She's either extremely foolish and truly believed she was Native American, or she gamed the system with a knowingly false claim. Dumb or duplicitous, neither seems appealing. Bernie is a loon, IMO.

I know the board hates Kamala, but she is still in my top group of candidates post-debate.

I think I am becoming a Pete supporter. I've liked him more and more over the last few months, and I thought he really stood out tonight.

From what I can find, she was in a medical unit in an administrative position. Information about her exact duties is elusive, as it is with Driver Mayor Pete.

Pete was in the Naval reserves from 2009 to 2017, in the intelligence community. According to ABC, Buttigieg also spent time in Afghanistan and Iraq as a civilian contractor “for the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company,” where he worked from 2007 to 2010

Didn't get to see tonight's debate. Need to find some articles to catch up, but probably not tonight. The problem with today's Democratic Party for me is they are drifting so far left with their ideals. I'm not saying I would never vote for a Dem, but I wish they had a more moderate candidate. Truthfully, I just wish there was one candidate I could get behind regardless of party affiliation. Not sure that's going to happen.

Wasn't his time in Afghanistan spent as a driver for his superior officer in the so called Safe Zone? I found that somewhere. I think that the media wants to make him and Gabbard into Audie Murphy. I am not saying that to denigrate their service. I just wish they would be truthful about it. I mean someone has to deploy from the National Guard and be administrators for medical units stationed in a combat zone , and drivers for their superior officers. In my mind, those aren't the war heroes. It's the grunts that get shot at daily..

Delaney is the only sane one of the bunch, and he looks like he should have been on Green Acres.

He has a serious black and Mexican problem. He is headed for the trash heap.
Kamala is a serious contender because of gender, color, and she is an accomplished actor. She isn't ashamed to play the race card or stream tears on demand. Not a genuine bone in her body, but she has a legitimate shot. She is a female Bill Clinton.

I see what you're saying, but I respect their service. It's more than Trump did. It's more than Obama did. More than Bush Jr. and Clinton did. They may not be war heroes, but they served.

Delaney and Biden are pretty moderate. Delaney got a lot of buzz on the interwebs and on the forum after last night. Even some Red Hats were saying he wasn't so bad. He won't make it through a Democratic primary though. The moderates always get left behind in primaries since they are mostly far left and far right voters. Then the nominees race to the middle to pick up the independents in the general. Rinse and repeat.

Not sure about his or Tulsi's back story during their military service.

I said that, and said that I didn't want to denigrate their service. Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Buttigieg get no points from me for thinking their military service makes them any more capable of being President than Bush, Clinton or Trump. At least Bush could fly a plane. It's inconsequential to me.

You saw what came out of the last crowded field of debaters, didn't you? The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and Trump got it.
