The Kerry Blackshear Thread

I checked his Twitter account and found where he said this: "I would be shocked if Jordan Bone doesn’t make it...one of the most underrated dudes in the Draft. Kid is a crazy athlete"

So, he did praise Bone.

But he also said this about Grant: "Grant Williams will flop into everyone’s hearts in Boston"

Yeah that was the one. It’s unhealthy the distain I have for Kentucky basketball. Won’t ever forget the folks on their boards saying they hope Admiral and Grant get AIDS after we beat them in the SEC tourney and getting a lot of likes

This is going to be outstanding if we get him, but I absolutely believe with or without KBjr we are a NCAAT team. You got a guy not even healthy last season in Lamonte who averaged 12.5 ppg, I think with him and Bowden being THE guys that turner could potentially avg 20 ppg and Bowden 15-16 PPG to add to that. Then a freshman that could potentially avg 10-12 ppg. We are going to be outstanding if we good Blackshear, but we will be good without him.

In most every case I prefer outstanding to good, though good ain't bad.

Not a bad starting 5....and plenty of experience coming off the bench with Pons and Fulkerson

Yeah I’m thinking that if we get KBJ, the depth chart will look something like this
PG: Lamonte Turner, (JJJ, Bowden)
SG: Jordan Bowden, Jalen Johnson
SF: Josiah-Jordan James, Yves Pons
PF: Kerry Blackshear, Oliver Nkamhoua
C: Uros Plavsic, John Fulkerson

How has Burns looked? He could be another piece in the frontcourt.

Interesting. I would've assumed Kent was the odd man out.
I have no kind of insider information but the word on here has been that Burns has had some disciplinary issues and that’s why he would get the boot if Blackshear comes

Our prior starting power forward won back to back SEC POY awards and got drafted in the 1st round after not being a top 100 recruit, leaving a huge hole there. Plus two other draft picks this year. That's a pretty big check mark in the plus box for a guy who plays the vacated position and might have NBA dreams. Florida hasn't had an NBA draft pick since 2013, two years before White got there. The Coach VA Tech hired has never had an NBA pick, he's barely above .500 for his career and made 5 NCAA tournaments in 17 years as a head coach. Pretty big differences between current UT and either of those situations.
