Not only that, but Patterson benefits from being in Texas. He is a very good football coach, but there are three star Texas players (heck, maybe two) that are good players when developed because there are so many. That changes at a place like UT.
Exactly, dude is a hell of a coach but, he's not beating down doors on a national level to recruit.

You are correct, Franchione was there at the beginning of the resurgence, but he also had one of the best RB's ever to play the game going against WAC defenses, and Patterson coaching his defense for him. The way Patterson has sustained that program's growth over 18 years and 3 different conferences, bringing them into the big time, has been nothing short of remarkable.
And Franchione recruited said running back and had already implemented the offense he flourished in. Not shortchanging Patterson in the least...he earned his status and still does. Just a little versed in Franchione’s career (and plummet) due to me being in Albuquerque when he boosted the UNM program and being in DFW when he did the redeaux for TCU.

Lol sure you can. I think you mean if you have a mortgage. That is because the bank wants to protect its own collateral. Own your home and you can do what you want.
I own my house and I wouldn't be caught dead without insurance. To each his on though.

Watched episode 3 of Vol Summer Long, Ollie Lane is pretty stacked he might end up finding some snaps on the offensive line (not sure if this year or next). Just a R-Freshman too, good depth guy I think.

He also did duck confit fries at S&B, so it's obvious he's intelligent.
Forgotten guy by our crowd. One reason I’ve not fretted over McBride.

He’s got those relationships with the HS coaches...top classification to bottom. He’s a Texas guy.

I think we are sitting alright on the O-Line as well. Starting to finally get big bodies in there thanks to Fitz and team. (Nutritionists as well)
They retained the former nutritionist, right? Just better utilization. Throw a protein shake at an obese, unhealthy player and you have an obese, unhealthy player who just drank a shake.

The Texas population is over 25 million people. This state has plenty of 3 star recruits that are just as good as most 4 star recruits in states with smaller populations. Purely a numbers game.
