2020 Presidential Race

Well, you can't promise diplomacy in a future that you aren't president.

About wikileaks: from Mueller Report
Screen-Shot-2019-04-18-at-1.58.25-PM.png

Ongoing= Roger Stone?

Maybe we'll find out more sometime soon.

I guess if Comey hadn't exonerated Hiliary (a move well above his pay grade) it wouldn't have been an issue anyway. But to be honest, with the redactions, Trump may or he may not have had anything to do with Wikileaks. I'd bet if it were clear, Mueller would have been all over it like ugly on an ape.

Remember the simple line "I shot the sheriff"? Now try I ------------ the sheriff. Kinda makes it hard to figure out exactly what happened. You could insert almost any verb in that line. All there is in that passage above is that Trump told Gates something ... not that he directed anything.

He knows. The "negative waves" thing is an Oddball line from the movie.

Nite. We agree better on other topics. BTW I did find and watch Kelly's Heroes again last night ... still as funny as the first time. I think that was Donald Sutherland's best role.

Right, and maybe those blanks will get filled in... He did rely on them pretty heavily during his rallies, but I'm not sure anyone is saying that it would be criminal if he did coordinate personally. I guess that would be a good example of how to launder information, if that's how it went down, though.

I'm out too

Edit. It will get downvoted to oblivion bc reddit is a socialist wet dream. I never post politics there. Only other time i did, i got permabanned from r/socialism...lol

Donald Trump now says that the FBI is wrong on their prohibition against accepting help from foreign governments during an election campaign, and that if approached by a foreign government with assistance he would accept it and not report the contact to the FBI.
He didn’t say he would not report it to the FBI. He clearly said that if approached by a country that maybe you both listen and call the FBI. He again followed up that if something is wrong you call the FBI.

I like how Stephanopoulos seems to distinguish between countries when deciding if opposition info from another country is worthy of calling the FBI. Trump said if you get a call from another country saying they have info on your opponent do you call the FBI? George said if it’s Russia you do. So if it is from Russia then it’s wrong but from another country it is ok? The country shouldn’t matter if it is so wrong as the Dems are screaming. Trump was honest about opposition research and the Dems and MSM can’t handle it.

When presented with facts that contradict that idea, just deny and claim superiority anyway. Like daddy, like son.

Facts are what they are, whether you care to admit it or not. Again, no one is claiming superiority, we're just guided differently and not by an emotion that may change in 5 minutes.

Yes he did, at first, but then he seemed to backtrack when George Stephanopoulos referenced the fact that Al Gore called the FBI in 2000 when his campaign received a stolen debate preparation book. Stephanopoulos then told him that the FBI Director (Christopher Wray) had said that any candidate who is offered damaging information on an opponent from a foreign government, should call the FBI. That is when Trump said that "The FBI Director is wrong." So, he wasn't consistent from beginning to end. I suspect that he was just trying to defend Donald Trump Jr. taking the meeting at Trump Tower but instead, he just gave a very bad interview where he seemed to contradict himself. Like I said before, Trump is out of practice with being interviewed by someone other than his Fox News allies (who never ask follow up questions or imply that he is anything less than flawless).

That’s rich based on the tee ball setting lined up for the Dim debates. 😂

I agree but I still say that if Trump has to invest any time campaigning in Texas next year, that is in itself, a win for Biden (or whoever the nominee for the Democrats is).
Not really. The president should campaign everywhere. Cant ignore any part of the country. It's amazing that people continue to push for this type of stuff. The president represents everyone. Everyone.

Not all types of speech are covered by the 1st Amendment. Federal election law, administered by the Federal Election Commission, prohibits contributions, donations and other expenditures by "foreign nationals" as well as an exchange of any "thing of value". If contacted by a foreign government offering valuable opposition information during an election campaign, there should be no doubt as to what a candidate should do.

You ARE young.

In theory, that should be true but as a practical matter it's not. The most populous state is California and yet, Trump has not only never campaigned there (and I don't blame him for that) but he has also only even been there twice since taking office. He waited 417 days into his presidency to visit California for the first time. I think it's safe to say that he won't be spending any time there next year either.
