So for 2020 we only have 4 and 3 star players. They may be good kids but if we ever want top 5 recruiting rankings to actually have a shot to beat the likes of Clemson, Bama, Georgia etc... Then we need to recruit some 5 star players or 5 star talent. When our back ups are 5 star athletes and as good as our starters then we will be back to out glory days.

Maybe you should email Pruitt and let him know, that's probably news to him.

You are about to get a scolding. Not saying you're wrong, but you will get blasted anyway

Now you've gone and done it. A word of advice don't look at this thread again. It will save you some hurt feelings.

Firstly we are unlucky that probably the 3 biggest teams at present are Alabama, Clemson and Georgia, all in our backyard (nor to mention Florida and LSU) recruiting locally would be easier if those top three teams were USC, Oklahoma and Ohio St.

4 & 8 and 5 & 7 against Playoff contenders, getting 4*s Im surprised we even get on a shortlist, also

4* coached and developed = Pruitt

5* wasted and ignored (Kamara, Hurd, K Mac and Richmond) = Botch

Boy do we need an 8 & 4 year to close the gap

This is the kind of post that belongs in your inner monologue.

For a team that has won 9 games in two years it's pretty astounding Pruitt has got 2 5 starsso far. The staff is still in its infancy at UT. I think the 5 stars will come in but I wouldn't expect more than one a year until he can prove he's a solid 10 win a season coach...which he might be. Can never tell the future. Just expecting 5 stars and getting disappointed it isn't happening is just out there at this point.

-247 Article Quote

“Between the 2017 and 2018 classes, Georgia (16.1%), Alabama (12.9%), Clemson (11.29%) and Ohio State (12.9%) accounted for 53.19 percent of all available five-star prospects. That four-team group represents the three champions of the CFB Playoff era (Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State) and the team that finished a single overtime stop away from joining that group (Georgia)”

That’s 3 teams within 3 hours driving and another that’s probably not more than 7-8 hours. Perfect recruiting storm.

The Vols are a run of the mill program currently and only winning will change that, unfortunately. It becomes ever more difficult to overcome being mediocre, when your just treading water........ground hog day all over again, until we break the chain

Vol fans may have to come to the realization that we may never regain the swagger that we had in the 90's
