I get all of that and I don’t think it’s wrong - just that it still might be too early to make the call.

On the whole, I think the entire issue has been that they want to keep their prospects (which has worked so far) and they don’t think this team is a contender and wouldn’t be even with a couple more big money additions. I disagree with that notion - but I believe the front office doesn’t think this team is close to LA (and maybe now the Cubs) when it matters in the playoffs.
