Might as well get that PhD so you can start pulling $40k

In SoCal teachers get paid pretty well but in LA, SD or OC the cost of living is high. But there are cheaper places to live where they still pay well. Out in Palm Springs a BA and no experience starts in the 50s and if you max out the education and experience reqs you're in six figures. Not shabby for 180-some work days in a year. Of course, out there you'd be living in a desert too. But I guess if you're a teacher you can spend a couple summer months somewhere else with reasonable temps.

I didn't go to catholic school even if I admire the girl's uniform but the paddle was in full effect until junior high and I found my arse on the business end of it many a day. Then I would have to take a note home to get it signed that I got paddled. My dad would see it and here came whoopin' number two. Good times.

I once had two teachers tag team me with a paddle. I thought it was overkill for the offense (I just flew a paper airplane from my class into the other class) but both teachers took me out where both classes could see and took turns paddling.

Seriously I know
Neyland 1.
Phil 2
Think Majors .645
Dickey .738
Jones last.
Who else, where?
Aside from any interims, I think John Barnhill has the best winning percentage. Without looking it up, I’m not sure if he was here long enough to qualify.

After looking it up, he was here for 5 seasons but one was not played. More fun in the gray area!

eh. he's a self professed KY homer, TN hater.
he says things solely for the reaction. not even worth the time to find what he said.

Not to mention he is basketball guy now trying to also now be a football guy. Even UK football fans have blasted him before on some of his attempts at analyzing football.

.633 - Mark Banks (5 years)
.622 - Bowden Wyatt (8 years)
.723 - Battle (7 years)
.829 - Neyland (21 years)
.557 - Butch (5 years)
.645 - Majors (16 years)
.738 - Dickey (6 years)
.743 - Fulmer (17 years)

Barnhill has the best win percentage it appears with .846, but only coached 4 seasons. I actually asked, because I think (as a coach) Majors is a tad overrated...wanted so see where he stacked up. It's pretty obvious that Neyland is the greatest UT football coach, but I think it's hard to argue against Fulmer as #2.

6 Claimed National Titles in school history - 4 for Neyland, 1 for Dickey, 1 for Fulmer
16 Conference titles (13 SEC, 2 Southern, 1 SIAA) - 7 for Neyland, 3 for Majors, 2 for Fulmer, 2 for Dickey, 1 for Wyatt, 1 for Clevenger
SEC East Division Championships - 6 all for Fulmer

Man, we all know the story but Neyland just casually takes 2 leaves of absence to fight wars and strolls right back in to dominating fb.
My absolute respect, he has it.

To be honest, it's not a problem in the society either. Trying to call out the kids as "fickle" or "soft" because they chose to change their mind is stupid.

Anyone to blame it's the NCAA. You throw out a 2nd signing period before the season is even over you're going to have more decommitments. And it's not likely to change, you're also going to see the transfer portal get more traffic I think. Sign with school who then fires it's staff and you're the bad guy wanting to transfer when the new staff comes in with an entirely different scheme?

I honestly hate the early signing period, legit see no reason for it.

I think its mostly for EE's. I also think kids should be able to sign anytime once their senior year starts. Would wipe commitments out entirely. Make sure you are sure when you sign though because my rules would be you can't transfer for two years after you sign.

No, these kids love them some themselves. They're always right and ain't nothing you say will change their mind because the thousands of followers they have on Twitter tell them the world owes them something.
