My gosh man...they literally made Jon kill the love of his life, even though in doing so he probably saved millions more lives including his sisters, and then got banished for it...come on..that was brutal. How could you love with that for the rest of your life? Even Tyrion was not really sure they had done the right thing, as he said "Ask me in ten years" There was nothing happy about any of this.
Ygritte was the love of his life. Though Jon did love Dany. As for the banishment... yep ******. However, every Stark making out like gangbusters --a King, a Queen, and Adventurer, -- as well as all of the other characters getting their wish (Brienne is head of the Kingsguard, Pod's a knight, Sam's Grand Maester, Bronn finally got his $$$, Davos is Shipmaster etc.) is a pretty saccharine ending for a show like GoT.
So literally everyone had to die or end in squalor?
Many mistake all the killing in GoT as being a necessity of the universe. No, rather it just led to progress of narrative and, frankly, is just a reality in a world without modern science. It doesn't mean there are never moments of prosperity and peace. We just happened to interject into this universe at a time of chaos. Some mistook that as the norm when it was not.

Kentucky last year was no more than a much more extreme version of us in 2015-2016. It was a blip on the radar. UK in no way built a permenant base for success. They got lucky on a few great defensive talents and Snell. But their schemes are not something that will carry them forward. You need a competitive advantage (scheme, recruiting, development, etc) to keep that going. I could care less about getting 10 wins once a decade. We need something that lasts.
I believe it played a part but it wasn't the only reason. We were in desperate need of a roster turnover and his SEC recruiting prowess was questioned by several.Never understood this thought on Leach. Southerners can't be open to interesting, absurdist folks? Seems close minded to me of how some perceive the South.
Shoot, he's a Trump fan. I don't get this idea at all.
Just pure trash.
I've read the books and watched every episode. I hope GRRM finishes the novels and gives it a deserving ending. You can tell when the showrunners ran out of material. Most of the entire 8th season was a waste. It was like the writers put no effort into the scripts and already had one foot out the door.
The battle plans for the defense of Winterfell and the assault on Kings Landing looked like they had been drawn up by a school child instead of using an expert on medieval castle defense and assaults to assist with those episodes.
And there were so many things wrong with the finale that made you cringe.
