Gun control debate (merged)

Yet you don't argue for this, you argue for the minority having rights that outweigh the majority. Why the measles vs a cold? Depending on age or immune system function a cold could be deadly.
True. Tough call. At some point, if your immune system is weak, it's on you to take precautions that are not expected from the majority with normal immune systems.
Some diseases will be deemed so contagious, and so potentially damaging to the public, that society will determine it best to quarantine people with those diseases.
Society has no desire to quarantine anyone and everyone with any disease. No slippery slope, just rational and reasonable.

The manner in which someone kills themselves doesn't really matter. It's a decision that person made. Whatever inanimate object they used to follow through with it isn't important at that point.
You guys aren't this dense.
You know (or can know) the stats on attempted vs. successful suicides broken down by method.

If you place an individual on a plane with a contagious disease, which is not choicely(new word) controlled, you are likely to infect someone else, which infringes on the phrase of the day: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for someone else.

If you place a law abiding citizen on a plane with a gun, the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is not infringed. If he or she uses that weapon, there are laws in place to punish the infringement on the victims life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Equating these two is, at best, intellectually dishonest.

Doesn't matter to me in the context of your argument. It has nothing to do with the gun violence numbers you attempt to include with the suicide numbers.

The US, which of course in the mind of some is just waiting for a Maximum Overdrive moment when guns get their shiz together and start killing people of their own volition, isn't even if the top 25 in suicides. In fact the latest thing I found on the subject has our suicide rate behind such countries as Belgium, Japan, France, Switzerland, India, Poland, Finland and Austria.

I pretty much just go "Oh, OK, bye." when people say "gun deaths" for the specific purpose of pumping up the numbers. The real shady ones will count suicides with "gun violence" numbers, which is so close to a lie it's a distinction without a difference.

The difference in 20,000 and 40,000 doesn't change the point of my argument.
Side note, I saw that about 85% of suicides by gun are white males.

Yes we know you dont actually care about saving lives. You only care about getting rid of the guns. You have made this clear multiple times.

He has made it clear that we need tougher gun laws and background checks. Obviously you never paid much attention to what he has actually said but instead believe what position the Redhatters assigned to him.

No. I read his stuff and respond. He has said multiple times he doesnt care about the numbers. He said he wouldn't care if guns stopped more crimes than lives it took.

It's not the point he wants out, but it's there, always lurking for those watching.

How many times have you railed against abortion? How many times against cars? How many times have you only commented on terrorism to blame guns?

Why is your first step to always blame the gun, and not the individual? You never cheer when a gun saves a life. Whether that's by a cop, the Gov, or someone defending themselves?

If you cared about lives for every anti gun article you liked in this thread you would like one about someone defending themselves.

Willing to bet your slant on likes is anti gun not pro life. ITT at least.

You only care about the gun. Not the life or rights you pretend to want to protect.

whats absurd is your comparison of the right to bear arms with having a contagious disease in public.
They are both considered by society to have the capability of reaching a point where the risk to the public outweighs the rights of the individual.
No one is trying to quarantine all sick people.
You will always be free to walk around with a cold.

I've addressed your stupid comparison already. It's stupid. Your erroneous thought test is a failure.

I dont even own a ****ing gun so this doesnt even have a direct effect on my current house but there is no way in hell I will give up my rights to bear arms from a weapon and animal extremity possession standpoint.

Luckily, no one is asking anyone to give up their right to bear arms. Just applying some reasonable and rational regulations.

they arent reasonable. at all. Your argument is pretty much "we will take the big scary ones away and nothing else.. trust us"

To that I'll advise you to eat a bag of dicks because I don't trust folks that have zero grasp on the importance of the Bill of rights.

Are you referring to Trump?
I'm leaving Flatland for bit.
