Here's some more interesting historical context of UT by decade (since the 1930's when the AP poll began) versus how our rivals did that decade. A couple of conclusions, one you already knew, man, this decade has been historically bad for us, exactly as bad as the 00's were for Bama (hope is good thing Red, maybe the best of things). Two, Fulmer was fired basically because UT returned to the baseline it had occupied for several decades before reaching the heights of the 90's under his leadership, bad move. Also, as a note, I only compared the schools that are still considered SEC powers, I didn't consider Texas A&M or Arkansas who had a strong decade for example in the 60's since they weren't in the conference most of the time, I didn't consider Georgia Tech who had several strong decades and a particularly strong 1950's because even though they were in our conference at the time, they aren't any more. Finally, I didn't include Ole Miss, who was No. 2 in the 50's but not real strong at any other time. Also, man, UF sucked for much of their history, LOL.

1930’s UT: 2nd, 79-17, SEC RIVALS (Bama No. 2t; LSU No. 11; UGA No. 26; AUB No. 41; UF No. 109)
1940’s UT: 8th, 67-19, SEC RIVALS (UGA No. 2; Bama No. 9; LSU No. 20; AUB No. 110; UF No. 115)
1950’s UT: 6th, 72-31, SEC RIVALS (AUB No. 18; LSU No. 38; UF No. 46; UGA No. 52; BAMA No. 55)
1960’s UT: 19th, 67-32, SEC RIVALS (Bama No. 1; LSU No. 7; UF No. 12; AUB No. 21; UGA No. 37)
1970’s UT: 18th, 75-39, SEC RIVALS (Bama No. 1; LSU No. 17; UGA No. 18t; AUB No. 22; UF No. 54)
1980’s UT: 18th, 77-37, SEC RIVALS (UGA No. 6; AUB No. 10; Bama No. 11; UF No. 21; LSU No. 29)
1990’s UT: 4th, 99-22, SEC RIVALS (UF No. 3; Bama No. 14; AUB & UGA (No. 23); LSU (No. 58)
2000’s UT: 20th, 83-44, SEC RIVALS (UF No. 5; LSU No. 6; UGA No. 8; AUB (No. 11); Bama (No. 71)
2010’s, UT: 71st, 55-57; SEC RIVALS (Bama No.1; LSU & UGA (No. 10); AUB (No. 19); UF (No. 37)

I would never have believed we would go 55-57 over a nine year stretch. Sweet mother of mercy.

Which Titans/Vols fans making that ex-extended weekend trip to Jacksonville/Gainesville?

Was there for both in 2017. I like how this year we will get to watch the Titans play before the Vols.
