Yeah, that always seemed far fetched.

I think it may be the OL factor. In drills, O may well be way ahead but once they scrimmage that line becomes at best serviceable and at worst a pretty big detriment. I hope that's because our DL is better than given credit for despite lacking depth but I doubt it.
