easy there big boy. i'm not saying that was the problem, but I'd say it spooked Crompton some.

From Crompton's stellar level of play all season, I'd say that a five year-old girl would spook Crompton. Crompton has ZERO redeeming qualities as a QB.

Should be an interesting week.

Fulmer says it's an open competition.

Crompton says he's still the guy.

WOW, after what Bama did to Georgia yesterday if Crompton's still the starter come time to play them they have to be licking their chops!!

Fulmer said he and offensive coordinator Dave Clawson have discussed replacing Crompton several times during games, but Crompton usually responded with a positive play and they chose instead to let him continue.

this quote got me thinking...how far has our team fallen that a positive play (notice that was singular...a) kept our QB in the game where he sucked and sucked all season

...as much as he likes to run head first into the defense...maybe he could be "the man" at full back. At least he wouldn't be throwing it and we could have someone that could...

JC reminds me of the people on the show intervention where their in denial about a problem but everyone else see's it....Stephens please beat him out this week....and after reading that i'm really thinking about creating that other facebook and telling him he does suck

I just watched an interview with him after practice on WATE (Channel 6).

This cat had to fight himself to say "we" instead of "I", when talking about how they (the team) were going to get through it. This dude, man, this dude. No leadership. If Ole' Saint Nick isn't starting then well Fulmer's line of "We didn't wake up stupid" is void.

This is my favorite part of that entire article...

Wide receiver Gerald Jones, who attempted his first pass of the season Saturday out of the G-Gun package, also is an option. Fulmer said that Jones likely would see more time at quarterback this week. He also said that the number of plays available for Jones at quarterback will grow this week, too.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mmmm not sure that GJ is the answer at QB. I mean how many times have we been in the G-Gun and have him throw out of it. I only remember once, and that was a screen.

Crompton is the biggest joke of a player I can remember seeing play at UT...at any position...

His take on things even surpasses when Kelley Washington referred to himself as the future then proceeded to bascially fall off the face of the football planet...

Crompton is beyond redemption at this point...you could see it on TV at one point when he threw the ball 15 yards into the sidelines and the cameras went to Clawson who just leaned back and said "Wow!"...

The problems that Crompton has aren't fixable...we won't win a SEC game with him as our QB...

At this point we have to put Stephens or Coleman in...what are we afraid of...it couldn't get any worse

Now let's watch Crompton in that video and keep in mind the following from the field of body language studies:

"Eye-Rub. This gesture attempts to block the lie that a person sees, or to avoid having to look at the face of the person to which the person is lying. Men usually rub their eyes vigorously or, if the lie is a big one, they will often look away. Liars do not like to look you in the eyes when they lie, they will look away at the last moment before they lie or stare past you."

I think Crompton knows his goose is cooked. My guess is that Stephens is already been informed he's getting a number of snaps against NI and if he performs, the job is his.

I'm far from impressed that Fulmer says he's going to look at options here in the 5th week. With all the bone head mistakes Crompton has pulled, Stephens should have started against Auburn.

A good coach would have been able to "evaluate things" on the fly and would have pulled him, if not after his first turnover against Florida that cost us 6 points, then certainly after his second. And if Stephens isn't prepared to step in at any time, that's on Fulmer as well.
