Westbrook Gone

It’s never a good idea to form opinions about a situation based ona still photo, because in a second either before or after a shot a person can have a completely different expression on their face.
Thus the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words"
every picture tells a story

2019 KJ with the girls.jpg
Jazmine: You're going to be fun to play for"
Evina: "This lady's pretty cool"
Mimi: Not ready to go all in ,,yet"
Kamera: "Hmmm,,I wonder,,,"
Lou: This coach is awesome"
Rae: ",,,you know,,,, this is gonna work out"
Rennia: "You got to win me out there"
Zae: "Same"
Kasi: So far,,she's ok,,,"

If any of the ladies transfer, do they get an automatic pass on sitting out one year because of a coaching change or it this one of those case by case situations by the NCAA?

I would think if Westbrook was the point of an actual offense with movement and screens, she would cut down on the turnovers.

After transferring to play for Dawn Staley, did Cooper cut down on her Turnovers? MANY Tennessee fans say that Staley is 10 times a better coach than Warlick.

Does Staley run an actual offense with movement and screens?

Correct. Last season she had to BEG for a post player to come set her a screen every time down the floor. It made no sense, that should be how you initiate your offense to get the defense moving and put them on the chase. Instead we just let people play us straight up and tried to shoot over them. It drove me nuts, Evina would stand there dribbling 10 seconds off the shot clock pointing at the top of the key for Cheridene or KK to come set her a screen, then we would end up with some kind of rushed, contested shot because we never had a chance to run the offense long enough to get someone an open look.

KK could make herself a huge contributor on setting screens alone, she would also get more open looks rolling to the basket than she ever will trying to post-up. She should really work in the off season on getting set and rolling hard. If Evina stays and her shot improves just a little more from three point range KKs player (or whoever is setting the screen) will be forced to hedge high and Evina's defender will be forced to try to fight over the screen which will open up the roll for whoever sets the screen, Evina is a good enough passer that she could make a living on shovel passes to the post for layups off the screen and roll.

Hebard and Ionescu run that play all day long. Eventually the defense has to respect the post player and that opens up the mid range for the guard.

Team, not Mama.
Coach needs to tell parents to stuff a sock in it!

So parents are definitely not going to put a sock in it about their children. Period. Maybe the fans should put a sock in it when it comes to speaking on the character of players and their families. Y’all have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, no matter who tf you know.

YOU must know "what's going on behind the scenes" since you are vehemently defending their actions.

Cooper played off the ball 95% of the time at SC vs. Tennessee where she was primarily at PG. Most wings will have a worse ATO ratio because they aren't looking to set up their teammates to score.

Maybe Westbrook can transfer to South Carolina and replace most of the Turnovers they are losing.

You seem pretty obsessed with Evina and her turnovers. But did you know, this season's team had the second lowest number of TOs of any team under Holly's head coaching tenure (509).

The 2016-17 team had the lowest # of TOs (449). For Holly's other 5 seasons, her teams had over 550 TOs per year.

EW's TO were actually down from her freshman season 121 v. 101

In the two seasons prior, Diamond had a 103 and 116 TOs.

When Ariel Massengill was PG, her TOs were lower (generally around 60 per season) but the overall # of team TOs remained high and its assist to TO ratio relatively low.
This seasons ratio was .9 whereas for Massengill it was 1.0

So, high TOs and low assist to TO ratios seem to be a characteristic of the LVs for the last seven seasons.

Since Evina has only been there for two of these seasons, we may need to find another explanation. Who would be ultimately responsible for a team's consistently low level of poor offensive execution?

Think, think, think.......

The Lady Vols this past season, led by Evina Westbrook, were in a virtual tie with LSU for third most turnovers in the SEC.
