What I like is that we paid the man (and his assistants, likely). If Barnes big complaint was needing a commitment via bigger assistant pool $$, sounds like Phil knew what we needed to do and made it happen. Didn't let him go to UCLA and go bargain shopping, but knew he had a great coach and showed Barnes the love....that is what an AD does--retains your winning coaches and not be the stepping stone job to a bigger opportunity....gives me hope across all sports....
