The game of football has obviously passed up CPF. In his time he did a lot of good things for our program, he played here and obviously coached. To fire him straight up i think would be a bad idea, thats like firing Bobby Bowden. I say get rid of hamilton, move phil into something in the administrative aspect and then bring in a new, young head coach. That way we dont lose the money that phil brings in, and he has made an exit with grace. Thoughts?

Unfortunately the "With Grace" move was a move that Fulmer needed to do at least a couple of years ago. Now his actions have caused alot of divisiveness and hard feelings that are going to make the "With Grace" thing very difficult.

Fulmer will never leave on his own, ever.

How about $1 million cash + a Krispy Kreme franchise of his choosing, anywhere in Tennessee?

I don't want Fulmer to have anything to do with the next coaching hire. And Hamilton has done a nice job in the last few years. TBA and Neyland have seen many improvements, as have the practice facilities, and men's BB is actually making money. I don't think there is any justification to fire Hamilton. I am not sure Fulmer would want an admin. job, he has plenty of money so why would he want to spend his time doing that.

Agreed 100 %. I was trying to set the trap, thanks for ruining it.:) Let's not mention Fulmer's propensity for hiring the wrong people frequently.

and work closely with the other coaches and the new HC in recruiting. That would give him a way to 'bow out' eventually with some of his reputation in tact. That possibly could help make a smoother, quicker transition to a new HC and staff.

Bobby Bowden > Phillip Fulmer

First of all, you seriously insulted Bowden. Second, if Phil takes Hamilton's place, or has any say, he will continue to make bad decisions. Hamilton can stay, but he needs to get someone completely different, so that rules out Cut.

No, I don't agree at all with keeping Fulmer in any type of capacity, especially administrative. He has not managed offensive coordinators, he wouldn't ditch Chavis, and he likes to hire within the "family." I hate that mentality.

So, what would I do if I was Hamilton? First he wouldn't have received an extension and a raise last year. Second, I would be looking for a replacement right now. Third, he should be asked to step down "gracefully" at the end of the season to save face for the University and Fulmer himself. If he won't, let him go and have someone ready to replace him quickly. The quicker the better, because the news of a new coach will overshadow the letting go of Phil.

Well ... we could say, "You're Fired" ... and then all hold hands and sing "Amazing Grace."

In all seriousness, I think Fulmer will have to resign. The resignation may come under pressure, but there's no way he's going to get fired, per se.

I say give him a chance at leaving with grace. If he so choses not to take it, fire him. The program comes first and Fulmer's rep comes later. I don't want their to be a big stink over the whole thing, but I think Phil will drive it to that.

Phil Fulmer is a good coach trying to work through some personel problems. He didnt just wake up one day and not know what he is doing. The problem is you people dont know what you are talking about.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. You're funny. Now that Fulmer is competing against top notch SEC coaches, we are getting spanked. Maybe he used to not have the competition he has now and his true colors are showing through...

Good afternoon, Mrs. Fulmer.

Tennessee does not have the cash to fire Fulmer. Period.
Hamilton has done a fine job. He just has no control over football program. He's a puppet for those who pull the strings.

If you think the big boys can't "find" the 5M when they've had enough of Phil, you're wrong.

Fulmer doesn't deserve to go out gracefully.
