The irony is, the BB staff feels slighted about FB getting preferential attention and $$$, and now FB feels BB is taking focus away from the O&W game. It's like sibling rivalry. You can't make this stuff up.
Not really sure why this was a reply to my previous post, but I don't necessarily disagree. I think Barnes is a very good coach and would like to see him stick around and retire here, but I don't really think he's worth 6 million a year. There’s two ways you can look at Barnes and both are true.
1. He gave us a much needed stability, growth, and success.
2. He only made a 2nd round and a sweet 16 with potentially 3 NBA players on his roster.
I don’t think it’s the end of the world hit he leaves because he did a lot for our program and we are a much more attractive job now than when he got it which I’m thankful for.

No argument on having to be realistic. I just think there are better realistic names out there.Historically we've NEVER hired a big name coach away from anyone for basketball...it's called being realistic I guess. None of them are "big names" but all of them are winners and have proven it.
Bob Richey at Furman could be the "lightning in the bottle" guy, his success in his first 2 seasons is kind of unexpected and amazing to be honest. Very young too at just 36...took over for the HC he was the assistant under and then went 23-10 & 25-8 in his first 2 full seasons. May be too early to go after him but he's an interesting option I think.
That’s hogwash. They get some credit sure as does any coaching staff but that’s severely under cutting these guys. It’s like saying Ja Morant wouldn’t be a top prospect without Murray state. All guys like that need is a stage and they will perform. Do the staffs help them? sure. But grant, scho, and bone would be very good players virtually anywhere they would’ve/could’ve went.2. not a single NBA player on this roster if him & staff didn't develop them
Basketball as well as softball and soccer (all more successful programs) all have gripes with them and rightfully so. We have sucked in football for a decade and constantly pump more and more money into it without doing much for others. Soccer has been asking for a new field (500k) for 5 years now.
We have 30+ football staffers now all making big time money. I get football is king but i see their complaints.
Lol okay. Amazing how people talk down others when they have no ammoHe is not worth 6 million a year. The roster is about to lose 4 of 6 major contributors. He realizes this and is cashing in on it while he can. I don’t blame the guy.
This is where his terrible recruiting over the last three years is biting back.
