IMO this should be the move. Fix football and everything else will stabilize. FB is the lifeblood to the Athletic Department. Just the way it is.

Yes he does. He isn’t going to over pay a mother like Barnes and kill us. This was going to be I hope we win 18 games next year team of Williams and Bone both leave anyway.

nope. i really don't care, or hold it against you. it's just something i don't really get. i tried to relate it to how i feel about my multiple NFL teams, so i guess on some level i get it. i do know that i don't care about the NFL teams anywhere near as much as i do about TN.....so that's where it disconnects.

I'm only trusting AtlVol on this. So tired of crackpots on here throwing out sources just to rustle our jimmies. Barnes is not worth 6 million a year. that's almost double his current salary. If that's the price, we need to move on. Give Chris Beard 4.5 million and lets roll. His daughters live in Lubbock, but maybe that's enough money to move his ex-wife as well. I also think Mick Cronin and Steve Prohm should be on the list. Barnes leaving at this specific point puts us behind the bullet. If this happens right after the Vols lose in the Sweet 16, then maybe we could have gotten Kelvin Sampson.

Even though AtlVol made a reference to it, I still can't imagine Tennessee bringing Pearl back. He burned the program when he lied to the NCAA, and he is currently involved in the all the FBI smoke. If Tennessee hires him back, and Pearl is found out to have participated in that legal activity, imagine how nasty the NCAA punishments are going to be for a school who lost a coach to a show cause; hires him back after the show cause is over knowing he may get burned; and then he gets burned in the middle of a season for the second time. I think Bruce is a strong coach, but there's no need to take the risk.

I like Rick Barnes, but he isn't worth 6M a year.......which would be the 3rd highest in college basketball only behind K and Cal

When/if Barnes leaves, we won’t have a lot to choose from. Pearl isn’t happening. I just can’t see it. Beard and Marshall are reaches.

In Fulmer I trust for UT athletics
