We’ll hire a mid major guy, but this is the second best job in the SEC.I would normally agree but I don't have any confidence that UT will hire anyone that will last more than 3-4 years before we are shopping again. My guess is we'll slip back to the bottom or close to it again.

You can't be a true Tennessee fan and really believe that. I can't make myself believe it.
i cant rememver us being at the bottom (more than 1 or 2 rebuilding years) since...i dont know when. Certainly before bruce, maybe green. Weve had a good run of at least being decent for some time. better than football at least
You really enjoy near unlivable high taxes don't you
Did you work with multimillionaires? Again, it is not linear. Think barnes cares if it costs 400 a month, rather than 200, to heat and cool his home? Utilities, consumer goods, dont care in this analysis.
Still catching up, but, CRAP.There was a meeting with Fulmer and Barnes... we have a good offer for Barnes... but I’m not sure where he is at... there are factors outside of money but things concerning Texas and how he went about getting Durant is a concern... just a small factor but factor from AD side... I think he was thinking there would be more support but this is a football school so football will always get a lot more funds... I don’t want to get into all of it but there are a lot of factors from both sides on this... when they left it was still not completely clear but the offer was there and a decision should come in the morning... Coach Barnes said he will talk it over and pray about it and then come up with a final decision... the information turned as the night progressed... so we will see in the morning what prevails... less confident he stays but if he stays I don’t see him going anywhere anytime soon if he does turn this down.
Money is just money! I do like beautiful places though. asheville strikes a great balance of beauty, nature, and beer for me. more expensive than tennessee, but very affordable overall. state tax does hurt on those bitcoin cap gains though ugh no joke
I did. I am retired now. Yes, they care. They don't want to go backwards because part of the legacy is to leave the family in strong financial condition as well as to support causes he believes in.
He may want to be work in Wooden's shadow. Does not strike me as a Hollywood/NBA idol worshipper though.
Agree with all of that except the last sentence. Really wanted those guys to get to the EE at least.Eye of the beholder in regards to Cali. Sure are a lot of Cali transplants moving to the SE though. There's not enough money in the world to entice me to live there and I have been all over that state many times. For every great thing there are a couple of strong negatives IMO. Again - eye of the beholder. I'm more of a mountains or Green Grass and High Tides guy.
If CRB wants to go, don't stop him. Thank him for his excellent work and move on. If's it's about reasonable increases for him and staff - pay them. He's an excellent employee and representative, but not the reason for the UTAD's existence. That honor goes to football since it pays the bills. I could not wait for B-ball season to be over so I could focus on football anyway.
