If UCLA makes the money right, I can see where Barnes would go. He could lose 4 of 5 starters plus key assistants at UT and the team could take a big step back next year. UT fans are a lot more vocal than UCLA fans and some of the criticism gets way harsh. And you can't beat the weather in SoCal. He could live at the beach and make serious bank until he's ready to retire.

UT fans are more vocal about football but UCLA fans are on par with us when it comes to basketball. At any rate, I don't think fans being critical is that much of an issue for Barnes or he'd never have stayed at Texas as long as he did. The beach/weather argument I can get behind tho.

Interesting discussions in the basketball forums 👀🤔

Basilio saying he's hearing from people that Barnes is unhappy with Fulmer's basketball support.

Basilo is reporting that he agrees with the LA times report. Is very unhappy with Fulmer and his approach towards basketball. Too football centric.

Fulmer wasn’t wrong when he said this but he said as the football program goes, so does the entire Athletic Department.

But he was wrong to say it. Stupid, in fact.

Well, the football program is in the shitter and the b-ball program is looking pretty good.

Basilo is saying he couldnt get what exactly he wants from fulmer.

Baslio has heard he was unhappy with Fulmer since Mid-Season.

Most UCLA fans I've seen already don't want him there. Whereas, he probably has a 85-90% approval rating here.

Not sure about any of that. Fulmer pulled the plug on Holly when no one thought he would. That said, I heard from a poster on another board that the beef was about naming Lanier HCIW which Fulmer wouldn't do. Of course, it's all speculation but that's what we do when hear stuff like this.

No, I'm not saying the fans would be a reason for leaving. I'm just saying if the money is right, I can see why he'd take the job. They can retire anywhere they want and living at the beach, which is a short commute to Westwood, isn't exactly a hardship.

Give me mountains and river over beach any day of the week. I view living in Tennessee as heaven on Earth. No hardship there.

I loved Bruce when he was here. I believed he loved Tennessee like no place ever.

I now believe that’s his public persona and he loves where he is employed. Think we as fans bought way to much into his feelings for UT. JMO

I have been tired of hearing about some of our fans wanting Bruce back. That said, I heard a Memphis radio interview of Bruce about a year or two ago. It was well into his time at Auburn. Quite frankly, I was pretty amazed at what he continued to say about Tennessee. He really, really enjoyed being the UT coach.
