Head coach Phillip Fulmer
"It goes without saying that it was a very disappointing loss. I congratulate Auburn on their win. I think the defense played outstanding for most of the afternoon. Offensively, we were stuck. The second half, the defense gave us good field position and opportunities, especially with the punts and punt returns, and we didn't get anything out of it. To play offense, you have to execute and that is first and foremost. I don't think this team has lost its spirit at all. I think we have good leadership and its growing all the time. Adversity will challenge us and we will see where we really stand.
"It is very disappointing to get that kind of effort out of our defense and our kicking game and not get a win. Auburn has an outstanding football team and we need to do much better to win."
On Tennessee's possible quarterback changes
"It is something that we have to look at in every position on the field. Tomorrow, and as the week goes on, we will break down film. Eight-for-24 is unacceptable. We need to be sure that he [Jonathan Crompton] is finding the receivers and getting the ball to the people who make plays for us."
On his frustrations with Crompton
"I don't want to put a loss on any one particular guy. We play as a team, win as a team and lose as a team. On the same token, we have to look at everything we can do to make the team feel better when it's not. That's where I'll leave that until we get a chance to look at the tape and see."
On the goal line fumble
"Until I really see the film, I can't really answer that. From what the guys saw on TV, they said Arian [Foster] had his elbow up too high. I'll have to look at it on tape. Obviously that is a huge play in the game." On making improvements
"We played a better defensive team than we did last week and that is not to take anything away from Florida. We played on the road [today]. We handled ourselves, in a lot of ways, better in regards to mistakes. That one mistake is enough to get you beat by a good team. We have to keep working, burn the midnight oil as coaches, and get it across to the players what needs to be done. If changes need to be made, I'm not afraid to make them."

Looks like standard Fulmer excuses to me. I could've written what he was going to say. Ridiculous.

I want to start seeing accountability at this point
if pf thinks foster fumbled the ball bump him to 2nd string
if 8-24 is bad then go to stephens

Let's wait and see how we fare against Wyoming...then look at making some changes..maybe.

"8 for 24 is unacceptable"
The very next question should've been, "why not put someone else in if Cromptom is struggling?"

Phil would say, "well I don't want to put the burden of the game on so-so shoulders.

The next question should've been, "Well Tuberville rotated QB's, how come you can't coach?"

I'd like to know his reasoning on why he won't change QB's even with a pathetic performance like that. It has to be a hellva reason.

jesus, people, this is media talk. It's not supposed to mean anything other than to give some reporters something to write down in their articles so that it at least looks like they were listening. He's never going to say how upset he is, he will be cordial and congratulate the other team on their victory, and he'll underplay everything to not give the press any ins to the talks in the locker room nor letting the press in on any dilemmas. It's honestly just PR people, and nothing more should be looked into it other than that.

Also, if you want him to go nuts and off the hook or say what he thinks, you get the dennis green and mike gundy and jim mora, and as fans you dont want that.

How long do we go with Crompton? If he is the best we have then the other two must be awful. I know that the announcers are paid by the school, but it is time to stop sugar coating everything like let's see how the rest of the season plays out. Why can't be a little realistic? Even former players say that is bad. Fulmer should take a page from Spurrier. This week he said that this week's practice ever position was up for grabs.
Last week in the final call in show after the game Will Overstreet said that it was bad coaching and bad playing. He also said that he didn't care if a player had All Sec or All American on the back of his jersey if he was not getting it done put someone else in. Why doesn't Fulmer try this. As he said in this week's weeks press conference that the coaches didn't suddenly get dumb.
That is correct because the situation has been building over the past several years. He also said that he had won 148 games. A good part of that has been beating up on Kentucky and Vandy. If you look up his record since the 98 season you will see how bad it has been. Against Spurrier, Myer, Saban, Richt, and Tuberville is now 9-23 after tonight for an (.281). He has losing record against raked teams.

What is it going to take for changes to be made ( clean house including AD). Remember his is from Flordia.

someone said that after the UCLA game, Crompton got mad at the UCLA fans and starting throwing cups at them, but luckily no one was hit.

"I think we have good leadership and its growing all the time."

I understand Phil isn't going to say stuff like: "We suck." or "Fire me now Hamilton, I need to go," or even "Crompton bites." but for crap sakes, was it not last week when he said we didn't have any leaders and someone needed to step up? Now, he says we have good leadership...

Two people managed to passed the screening last Monday night and asked about Fulmer stepping down. He said that he wasn't going to do that. Just after the question was asked they hung up on the caller. It's too bad the fans can't express their feelings either way.

You mean to say that some of the sports talk radio shows in Knoxville are drunk on Orange Kool-Aid???
