Millions of Illegal Aliens From All Over The World Head For U.S. Border

Highly unlikely but i will say i do occasionally take a teaspoon of pleasure when people argue inexorably about the wall not working....it will work better than air. You can't really get past the fact a physical barrier will be effective. I know your arguments and we disagree.

Of course it will do something, but does it pass a cost/benefit analysis?

Ok not a numbers chick, please point me to a c/b analysis you find fair. I passed an accounting class ( not sure how) but a study that even a cavewoman can understand would be cool.

I don't think Trump did a C/B analysis, which should be done before pushing a "solution" to an issue that is dividing the country.

This is a politically driven solution. The best ideas don't win in this arena

I found several c\b on the wall estimates and projections, I'll read up.

Anybody against the wall is for open borders, whether they realize it or not. Probably the same folks that think once we catch these people on US soil, they are loaded up on a bus and taken to the closest Mexican cul-de-sac and dropped off.

Yep, it's cheap comparatively speaking to what we are spending now. Our courts are tied up, boarder patrol is way over worked, welfare dependency, school system, healthcare, etc.

It's a poor solution which focuses on the symptom of an issue rather than the root cause. Why are there this many illegal immigrants here? What are they looking for? You build a wall, that does nothing to stop them from wanting to come and it may only prevent a small percentage. The wall has become this symbol for both sides rather than a logical, cost effective solution.

I'm afraid any other solution would prove to be way more expensive for the USA. What really needs to happen is the countries they are coming from need to get their act together.

If you are for the continued failed war on drugs and would rather put up a wall instead of focusing your efforts on entitlement reform, you frankly do not have an informed opinion on the cost/benefit of the wall.

Seal it off. You have cities and politicians actively saying they need to vote. They are applying for benefits.

Here's the real problems besides the two examples above. They're some gang members. They're some cartel members. They're some coming across and murdering American citizens. They're some drinking a bottle of tequila and jumping in their car they don't have a license/insurance for like they're still in the desert of Mexico. But all of them are coming from third world 💩holes and aren't up on any shots or immunizations.

Build the wall. Reform immigration while vetting everyone coming across. When they are chosen to come in, their whole family can get their shots.

So do you suggest we pay to make their country better for them? Or maybe we should invade it and make South America great too.

I'm against the wall and not for open borders.

That's 100% impossible. You can't have controlled, legal immigration without a barrier. There is no incentive for people to immigrate legally when you can just walk across. The border is impossible to police with just border patrol.

An effective wall doesn't have to be a physical barrier 3 things would end almost all illegal immigration and you don't have to turn the first shovel of dirt:

1. Make the hiring of or renting to an illegal alien a jailable felony for the big bosses/owners.
2. Eliminate all social services (welfare) for illegal aliens including being able to go to school.
3. Change birthright citizenship to require at least 1 parent be a citizen

Those three things and almost all illegal immigration would stop.
