I understand it because I have done it so many times myself, these guys do not, or at least to this point, have not learned how to stay focused and intense. It is just their personality as a team. Watch them, if we get in a dogfight with a big name team, they will probably win, and then lose the next game no matter who it is.

I love them but their propensity for this is vexing. I just had a bad feeling about it, and I told my brothers and friends that this was going to be a loss if they didn't retain that intensity...

Plus for whatever stupid reason, that one stupid team pulls out the worst of this squad...it is like watching a completely different team play...it is just strange, and Barnes did his best to warn and prepare them..this is just so disappointing.

I feel so badly for them..I fear they will not be remembered for all the tough hard fought wins, and how hard they worked to improve as individuals to collectively rise far above their HS rankings and give us so many good memories...I fear they will remembered for blowing a great chance to do something real.

I agree. I feel very badly, but for them, not us fans. They're the ones putting in the work, not us fans. I'm sure they hurt far more than we do. They had a heck of a lot more to lose than us. We act like somehow some disservice has been done to us. We poor fans, we don't get to strut around all proud, bragging about a bunch of students winning a game.

You need a good waffle house whooping for that comment. My post are so intelligent and scholarly you just don't get them. :p:p:p:cool::cool::cool:

I didn't see any lack of coaching or the team "not wanting it" today. I saw the same things we've dealt with all season, win or lose.
1. The full court press/Intense defense. We just struggle when opponents prioritize D. Become a turnover machine.

2 and 3. We shot ice cold, they're a 3 point team that was hot.

We face each of these at times and overcome but it's usually just one or two of these..
All 3 and we get our butts kicked.

Nothing wrong with our team or coach, we just had the trifecta of our biggest issues. *imo.

I saw a team that was spent emotionally. No energy or intensity. Coach can't put that in ya.

Sue me, I like Coach Cal. (Throwing shade at Auburn fouling Florida three point shot in the last second and no call)

For being the coach of a team I generally despise, I actually kinda like him too. He’s a snake who actually seems self aware of his reptilian ways.

Although to be fair my softened opinion of him may be more due us being 6-4 vs the Cats under Barnes and beating them fairly regularly even before that.

Rapolas Ivanauskas is the leading scorer on Colgate's team. He is a 6-10 Forward shooting the 3 ball at 43%. Keep an eye on on this dude

According to espb Tennessee is only "somewhat athletic"
They aren’t wrong.

Bone is quick, schofield is very athletic, and Bowden is somewhat. Pons barely plays anymore. Other than that? Alexander a bit maybe. Grant isn’t very athletic. He’s very skilled and very very smart. Turner is tenacious, but not super athletic.
