The Official #8 Tennessee vs. #22 Auburn SEC Tournament Championship Game Thread, 1:00 PM ET, ESPN

UT shot over 50% from 3. The difference was turnovers, not shooting.
Pearl coaches like a gambler by playing the percentages with so many quick 3s. He gets more offensive possessions per games by relying on 3s. Yes, we lost the first half due to 12 turnovers that led to Auburn points. We were so deep in trouble and never attempted enough 3s ourselves to even try to get close, even when we were shooting decent from the 3 point line. No adjustments. No win.

Why do you guys put so much stock into the SEC tourney? The reg season title is far more important in terms of prestige

The only tourney that matters starts in a few days

And as true as that may be, they play like this again and it'll be a SHORT tourney run.

The SEC tourney is an appetizer for what they're gonna see EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. in the AA tourney. If they can't get up for the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME of the SEC tourney (that they haven't won in, what 40 years? Against a team that literally DAYS ago cost them a regular season championship??) what are they gonna get up FOR???

You obviously don’t understand what having 40+ points off three pointers does do a defense. Pretty clear they went off shooting three’s

It was just one of those days. Their confidence kept growing and growing, and we’d got a stop and they’d get a long rebound or we would turn it over. This team is mature enough to respond with a good run and can beat anyone in the country .

There is no other way to put it. This team had everything to play for and laid a goose egg. They did last week as well against this same Auburn team. Guys like Purifoy and Wiley who hadn't done anything all year has good games today to. I just don't understand they strategy to bring in a goofy, undersized Fulkerson against a quick team or if they bring in Wiley.

Additionally we looked like the basketball follies not being able to hold on to the ball. As much as Auburn dominated both halves it was the first half that hurt most. Auburn wasn't that confident early but when we continued to play ragged eventually those 3 pointers started to drop.

I just wonder if this team has a ceiling because they don't have extraordinary talent but they've played well as a team. They lack one post player with NBA size that can help and another ball handling, shot making guard like they had last year.

The one thing you expected was Villanova type poise and understanding the moment. They appeared to be done before the game and thought the trophy was last night. The whole team.

This is the most I've been down on them all year but after this game there is a lot to be worried about.

Kentucky would've owned this Auburn team...again. Even with Auburn hitting everything earlier in the year against Duke the game was never in question like Duke was toying with them. Consider an Elite 8 an accomplishment this year as it should be by UT standards. That would be disappointing given where this team was at times this year but it's more realistic. 0 championships.

The crying on here when we struggle in any contest blows my mind; I should of learned my lesson by now and just stay away until the game is over. Time to go enjoy the weather for a change. Go Vols!!

People whine on here because their lives are marked with excellence. The whiners here never have an off day, they have a perfect work ethic and give 100% all day, everyday.
Their spouses are wonderful and their kids make straight A’s.

Shooting 3's like AU does results in a lot of long rebounds Their players are used to it and UT got out-rebounded big time in the 2nd half.

Very concerning that this team twice has a championship on the line and folded to the same team like a cheap tent.

They played well last week, so did Auburn. It sucks and I was mad but the effort and focus was there.

Today was ****ing inexcusable and these guys need to really think about their effort after today.

I think it is comical to think Tennessee didn't get up for this game. Yes, we lost by 20. Its a bad matchup. We didn't lose because of effort. You can always blame effort and sound right when getting blown out, but this was about us playing a team that shoots 40+ threes, which is our achilles heel. Auburn getting long rebounds and shooting 10/15 out of the half is fortune. We won't lose like this in the tourney

Our players are too obedient in listening to our coach to box out instead of being undisciplined and sitting out with the shooters..

Auburn is a bad match-up for the Vols. Small, quick, agile, and deadly 3 pt shooters. They got every loose ball, every long rebound, and we turned the ball over 19 times!!! These quick little ***** OUT REBOUNDED us!! We had 0 offensive rebounds in the 2nd half, and they had 11!! Just a poor effort, by this team. Auburn wanted it more!!

We didn’t play that bad at Auburn. We played well enough we could have won. And I don’t think we folded today. We flat out didn’t show up. Auburn didn’t start off well either but got it going. We were still sleep walking
