Colgate, then Louisville, with Houston or Nevada? and then probably gotta beat Virginia...
The nice thing is Kentucky has that South #1...so if we beat them in the SECT we probably get that #1 seed. I know a lot of people say it's "decided" already, but I think with the way the ACC/SEC are lining up it'll be decided in the conference tournaments. South bracket would be interesting since we'd end up with a potential Elite Eight match-up with Duke.
It’ll absolutely be decided this weekend. UT is still in the mix. IF they make a run and win the SEC Tournament, you can’t keep UT off the top seed line.
Ok...Barnes went from 1st to 3rd in the SEC. Davis went from 14th to 7th.
I get being a homer, but stop cherry picking counter points. Davis had the better season in the SEC based on the previous year. All that award does is highlight that.
Barnes won it last year when he was more deserving of it. I am just happy Bone got 2nd team
Those criteria don't quite match up with what's shown on the UT Sports retired jersey page.
So a great coach that does an outstanding job recruiting and developing can never win the award because he is just doing his job. K
I was actually speaking about all coaches even the ones at Duke, NC, Kansa, etc. They are automatically disqualified because they do their job by those standards.
Tennis coach at Texas. Looks like the scandal was about getting non academically eligible kids admitted to schools via bribes by "recruiting" them to non-revenue sports that they may or may not have even played in high school. Once they were admitted they would "quit" those sports but retain their admission to the schools.

Barton Simmons said:I live in Nashville and Vanderbilt had it's pro-day today so i stopped by just to check it out. I spoke to a scout who was telling me his next stop was Tennessee. He said that he doesn't think Tennessee has anyone draftable but that he wants to make sure he goes to make an appearance because the feel is that they are going to have a lot of pros there in the future. The feel in the NFL circles is that UT will will have dudes and that with the systems they run on both sides of the ball they will be pro-ready guys. Just thought it was interesting that expectations of this staff being able to get it done on the developmental front have bubbled up to NFL personnel guys.
This is a good question and most of the blame lies with bad decisions by the fired head coach. Dooley's worst decision was his DC hire and Butch's worst decision IMO was firing his S&C coach. However, part of the blame is when you have a dead man walking head coach due to fan revolt if there is any appearance of a down turn. It kills that last year (or two) recruiting and makes it very difficult to hire good assistant coaches when everyone knows the head man will likely be gone. When you combine that with a new coach's 1st year recruiting cycle nearly always being tough... you end up with at least two poor recruiting years and a bunch of other players looking to leave because their HC was fired. Hopefully, we fans will give CJP a little more leeway if he runs into any apparent down turns along the way.How the hell did we successfully hire two guys in a row who scorched the earth on the way out? I mean they both just absolutely nuked the roster.
