We need the Turner back from down the stretch last year. Dude was clutch and put up 10-15 points almost every game

Our team seems to go through Turner more than it should. When he's on we put up a ton of points but when he has an off day so does the team,

No doubt it means a lot. The tournament champion is conference champion though.

A 4 loss SEC champion will be a 1 seed.

Win the tournament. Please. I’m 46 and just want to see this once in my freaking life
Same here...agreed.

The conference tourney has almost zero to do with seeding. They aren’t gonna drop a 27-3, #1 seed team to #3 for losing to a top 25 team and finishing 27-5.
And to top it off a SECT winning UT or UK is for sure getting a #1 over one of those ACC teams which will inevitably lose in the semifinals.

I’ve never felt the regular season Championship was a big deal. It’s not what you play for. I want the Conference tourney title and the Natty. Basketball is a tournament sport.

Regular season championships are for baseball.
Yep, regular season meant absolute dogsh!t last year because we went out in the second round of the NCAA

Other than the fact of the automatic bid, I value the regular season title more than the tournament title. Anyone can get hot/lucky for 3 or 4 games. The regular season is a grind and is over an 18 game schedule. Overall body of work. Much tougher to win that title than tournament title. If they are going to continue to give out automatic bids I wish they would give it to the regular season champion. With that being said the conferences would have to do a much better job of scheduling.

Duke, UNC, Virginia, Gonzaga, UK, Michigan, Michigan State, Texas Tech

Duke vs UNC at 6, both could be 5 loss teams OR UNC could be a 6 loss team
Michigan vs Michigan State at 8, MSU loses they'll be a 7 loss team UM loses they'll be a 5 loss team

We've locked in a 2 seed.

1 seeds will be Gonzaga, Virginia, winner of UNC/Duke, and probably Kentucky

Only way we lock up a 1 seed is to win the SEC Tournament. We might have an outside shot if someone else outside the big 3 wins the ACC, but that's likely not happening.

UNC could end up with 7 losses depending on tonight’s game, MSU will likely finish with 7 or 8, and if they do somehow beat UM and win the tourney, then UM will finish with 6 and the rankings are already kinda low on UM for a 4 loss team. They aren’t gonna put 8 teams above us

well folks just finished the game on dvr. Got the "big screwover" didn't we? In the last few minutes - 1st offensive interference by Auburn not called, then admiral is CLEARLY ran into on a 3 and nothing called.

Oh well. Go Vandy.

If LSU loses, we share it with either them OR them & Kentucky depending on whether Kentucky wins/loses.

Come on vanderbilt & florida.

Either way - going to have to beat Kentucky & LSU in the tournament unless LSU loses their matchup.

So winning a full season within your conference means nothing? That is utterly convoluted. Yes, the NCAAT will always be what is remembered, but it's an absolute crapshoot. A regular season title is earned.

The 1 seed wins the championship nearly 75% of the time. Of course, it matters. Any time you hang a banner, it matters. The Vols worked all season to win the SEC. It would've mattered if we'd won and it matters that we lost. Ridiculous to pretend otherwise.
Qft. I can guarantee the team is extremely disappointed. Their goals were still even more than an SEC championship or SEC tournament championship. Their goals are still out there for the taking.

Bingo. An absolute trash UGA team won the tourney one year. It's pretty meaningless. Its only real value is allowing every single ncaa team to keep its hopes alive.

I mean Kentucky can still lose and the SEC could still ban LSU (LOL) and we could still end up with the 1 seed
