This Matt Jones KY fan pretending to be a media guy is getting to me too much. The guy is obsessed with TN. He cannot stop talking about the Vols. Especially when he is interviewed by Finebaum. Speaking of which, why does a guy like him even get invited to speak on Finebaum? It would be like me being asked to give an objective opinion about Fl. It ain't happening. But the guy is running his mouth again today and saying that the Vols will never win another National Championship.
Why would this be the case? Let's talk about it. The Vols literally have everything that every other championship level program has. We have tradition (2nd most wins and championships in SEC history, 10th most wins all time), we have facilities (ranked by 247 sports as 3rd best in the country if I'm not mistaken), we spend money with Fulmer at the helm as we have quite possibly the highest paid coaching staff in college football. The only thing that we lack is a National Championship head coach (we don't know that we don't or if we do have that yet).
The only disadvantage that we have is the lack of a major recruiting base like GA (that's really helped them win championships!). But even the talent in TN is growing and getting better every single year. This will not always be the case. But recruiting is not a problem at TN. Even coming off of 4-8 and 5-7 we finished 11th nationally in recruiting and had we signed 25, we would've been in the top 10. We still draw national talent as proven with top 50 player Henry To from Cali, former number 1 player overall from NC, 5 star Wright from WV, 5 star Morris from GA just to name a few. That's coming off of 4-8 and 5-7, better than anyone else in the country that had a record as low as we did. Everyone else in the top 15 won at least 8 games. Recruiting is only going to get better for this staff when the team shows improvement. We haven't scratched the surface of the talent that these guys can attract to TN when we start winning. I really believe that. If we win just 8 games it wouldn't surprise me to see us finish top 5 this year. In fact, I expect it. Tell me why I shouldn't with their track record.
In other words, I think TN and Bama are the same programs. The only thing that they have that we don't is Saban. Had we hired Saban we would be where they are. We have the same tradition, we have better facilities, we have the same administrative buy in, etc. In fact, Bama went through almost exactly what we are going to from the 90's until they hired Saban. They even went 3-9 in that stretch. So to say that we are done as a program is not only lazy, it shows a lack of knowledge of football history.
The guy is a troll and I fully believe that TN has everything that it takes to win a national championship. All it takes is the right head coach. If Pruitt is the right head coach, we will win a championship some time in the next 5-10 years.

Here's his troll game. You say that to him, he then replies "When did beating KY become the standard for TN? That shows how far you've fallen." He's a troll. It's his game. But I just wanted yall's thoughts about our ability to win another championship. As I said, I think we have everything it takes to win a championship. You did alot of work to respond to the guy. We have just been through our program's worst 10 year stretch, and UK beat us exactly two times. One of their best teams in their school's history couldn't even beat us in a 5-7 year. Too bad for them. He needs to spend more time thinking about how his school can get better.

We better give Pruitt time. He’s the first coach since Fulmer to be able to hire an elite staff. Give him all the time he needs. But I agree, that 2020 class will start us on a championship direction, especially if it is as good as we all think and hope that it will beIMO - we win an NC within 5 years. We have everything we need other than one or two more recruiting classes getting developed like's being done now.
I think JJ anchors a G spot and stays there. I don't think losing 1 inch on the roster means Wayna moves to G. I agree that Tatum probably starts at a T. I don't think Arkpo gets up to speed on time to start but he will definitely be a G.Off topic...I think Wanya ends up starting at guard.
Tatum will be a tackle and then it'll be Wright or JJ as the other one.
Assuming Morris is 6'4" as it appears on the roster. Chris A. may also be in the mix at tackle considering his strength.
