I can understand why UNC jumped...even with 5 losses, but MSU with 5 losses beating a UM team that wasn't even top 5 jumping so much is annoying.

I figured we wouldn't slide too far though, 2 spots is about right...honestly expected Houston to jump us but guess they are getting less love than us.

Barnes is stating the obvious: UT should have played better and seized opportunities to win the game, but officiating was an issue that impacted the outcome, and that shouldn't happen. He doesn't usually contact the SEC about questionable calls, so when he does, that says something. And when the SEC actually agrees with him, that says even more. Issues that are ignored generally aren't resolved.
The SEC office agreeing with him is huge.

Officials really need to figure out that it's going to be tougher to be so bias in this day and age. Metrics are tracked so much more closely and dispensed/shared almost instantly with social media.

It amazes me when folks minimize bad officiating with the "we had chances to win" argument. It is why we don't have the transparency with officials that we need.

We shouldn't have to play the refs too, but I felt we were clearly the better team on Saturday and should not have given the refs the opportunity to push LSU to the win. We have overcome bad officiating in multiple games this year. It is just impossible to do every single time out. I hope that ref is fired and banned for life.

I'm still shooting with both barrels but I'd still like the password to the new forum.

Look at the old guy with his "both barrels"!

Glitch be like...

I didn’t get to watch all of the LSU game so I have no clue how bad the refs were, but I am still trying to figure out how the refs do not call anything during the first half of the Kentucky game and then in second half call “everything”.Like make that line in sand somewhere ya know? As far as “officiating” goes.shooting 28% from 3 doesn’t help either Kentucky was just more physical that game no excuses.

The question is would the game have even been close enough, if the officiating was fair? Yes, we had chances to win. There was a potential 4-5 point swing at the end of the 1st half alone due to 2 fouls not being called that should have been called. Those points alone are the difference in us winning in regulation and not going to OT.

I understand, but we also allowed Smart to score 29, and he had at least a couple easy layups towards the end of the game. That shouldn’t happen. He wasn’t making crazy contested shots. Layups.

when they defended him, they were called for ticky tack fouls. Not sure if you noticed that.

We win the game if we don’t miss both technical shots and turn the ball over right after we got it from the technical foul...plain and simple
Tennessee lost this game, not the refs

It doesn’t have to be either/or. You can miss opportunities, and the game can still be officiated poorly. I have never seen a team play perfectly. IMO, it was clear Anthony Jordan made two make up calls after Wade got upset about the flagrant fouls.

Michigan state at 6 with three losses to unranked teams and 5 total. We have three total all to top 15 teams. It’s the name recognition in polls.

I would actually take the new braketology though of being the two seed in the South region. No problem with that.

This is absolutely true. Vols lost the game, not the refs.

But the refs were still highly questionable, and Anthony Jordan shouldn't have been allowed to call that game.

It can be both. The Vols lost because of their own mistakes, but the officiating didn't help them, either.

When you are less beat up as a team, the better teams can beat both the opponent and the refs. After consistent physical beat downs with bad officiating - losses happen like at UK and Saturday. This has been going on for the past 10+ games. Should they have won Saturday despite it - yep, we all know they are better and blew it. But all of the push against the refs and the other team for all those games wears the players down mentally as well as physically.

I am really, really proud of CRB. Calling this out in a professional manner and having his players' backs is a big deal.

Haven’t had much time to be on here today. Just skimmed through and hit the high spots. Gotta say I’m impressed guys and gals. We lose a game we should have won Saturday and we resort to talking about dicks and shooting blanks on Monday. Only the RF could pull this off.

When you get called for defending the lane you will stop defending the lane

Exactly. It seemed like every time he got in the lane, a foul was called. I'm not saying he wasn't touched, but it just seemed obvious that we were not allowed to get close to him.

In the FF it would have been shooting dicks with blanks. The zone would have had a poll about dick blankets.
