The SEC office agreeing with him is huge.Barnes is stating the obvious: UT should have played better and seized opportunities to win the game, but officiating was an issue that impacted the outcome, and that shouldn't happen. He doesn't usually contact the SEC about questionable calls, so when he does, that says something. And when the SEC actually agrees with him, that says even more. Issues that are ignored generally aren't resolved.
It amazes me when folks minimize bad officiating with the "we had chances to win" argument. It is why we don't have the transparency with officials that we need.
Officials really need to figure out that it's going to be tougher to be so bias in this day and age. Metrics are tracked so much more closely and dispensed/shared almost instantly with social media.
The question is would the game have even been close enough, if the officiating was fair? Yes, we had chances to win. There was a potential 4-5 point swing at the end of the 1st half alone due to 2 fouls not being called that should have been called. Those points alone are the difference in us winning in regulation and not going to OT.
We win the game if we don’t miss both technical shots and turn the ball over right after we got it from the technical foul...plain and simple
Tennessee lost this game, not the refs
This is absolutely true. Vols lost the game, not the refs.We win the game if we don’t miss both technical shots and turn the ball over right after we got it from the technical foul...plain and simple

Haven’t had much time to be on here today. Just skimmed through and hit the high spots. Gotta say I’m impressed guys and gals. We lose a game we should have won Saturday and we resort to talking about dicks and shooting blanks on Monday. Only the RF could pull this off.
