Due to its proximity to Sports Bell, I recall back in the '90s when you could walk into the Tennessee Room at the Walmart on Clinton Hwy. and purchase a genuine UT football jersey for a mere percentage of what you'll pay now.
And then there was the Bike company out of the Forks of the River that manufactured our helmets.
Yep. The pride of local folks contributing to the Vol's uniforms.

Good times.

According to Football Outsiders in the analysis of the 2018 FBS football season the 14 teams of the SEC had the toughest 14 schedules of all 130 FBS football teams and the team with the easiest schedule in the conference, the 14th toughest schedule in the country, was Florida. I’ve added the 2018 Team Talent Composite ratings to the chart along with preliminary returning production percentages and the 2019 recruiting class ratings. If the chart is too busy to look at take this as the key takeaway: Florida is the punk team in the conference. Also we were better than Arkansas and Kentucky on offense and better than Ole Miss on defense. Not impressed? We were better than more than half the conference on special teams, including Alabama, all the while playing the 2nd toughest schedule in the country. While we were mid-pack in the conference on rush and pass defense, our scoring defense let us down. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who hates to watch our pass rushers chase a quarterback 25 yards deep into his backfield only to allow the guy to escape and return to the line of scrimmage or better. Hopefully with the addition of the athleticism of Crouch, To'oto'o, Harrison, and Peterson, starting this year we can begin to put a stop to that.

How can you say Duke and Virginia are better than tennessee?...duke has a bad loss at home against Syracuse and almost lost against Florida st.? Not to mention thier whole offense is evolved around (2) players sometimes 3 max. Virginia is just as beatable as duke and duke showed that if you keep Virginia from shooting the 3 ball they won’t win none of these teams have a post or paint presence to keep grant or Kyle from scoring at will.Put Jordan Guarding RJ and Schoelfield on Zion it’s a wrap. Virginia and Duke are our biggest threats but I think it will be a lot closer than what the rest of the country thinks,this “hype train” is to much and we are lacking the respect this team deserves.

I think
Duke's talent is best in the Nation, both inside and outside. They are also playing very well at this time. I also think Kentucky has excellent talent. However, Tennessee has a better TEAM because of the way in which they have been coached. I think Barns has recruited players with character and undeveloped talent. We will have to see what happens during the rest of the season, but I believe Tennessee will be in the final four and have a good chance to win it all. The National guys seem to be afraid of believing Tennessee is as good as they are.

They used to have "yard sales" you could go to and purchase slightly imperfect uniforms and stuff. I think I still have a pair of basketball shorts from some team I never heard of. Odd thing is they've shrunk a bit. :)

Yep. Losing UT and a few others to Adidas, had their future looking not so bright. Guy tried to collect insurance money instead of bankruptcy.
