That’s worth significantly less than what they’re worth.
They’re only worth ANYTHING if the product exists. Kill the college game and those not good enough for long professional careers suffer. Colleges will always be able to overcharge for tuition...they’ll be ok. They go all in with the scholarships and free medical care et al because there’s a cost benefit. Can’t pay the kid at the bottom of the roster of Toledo along with the stars. Socialism doesn’t work.

Again that’s subjective. I think things run better with free and open markets

I believe in some regulation. Chaos is not a ladder..Varys was right, it is a consuming abyss, and Littlefinger got his throat slashed for being wrong.

I don't want to argue anymore about this. My head hurts.

This is the truth of it that they ignore.

thats subjective

But you can either let free market decide how much they’re worth, or give them one free transfer. Coaches can leave every year and never sit out, lie to recruits. But don’t you dare try to better your playing career by becoming a starter instantly!
There are buyouts, breach of contracts and the like involved with the coaches. You want the lawyers to gouge the student athletes don’t you?

Yes because free market allowing a school to pay the #1 recruit 450,000$ is socialism vs forcing everyone getting the same screams socialism

Having 10000001 restrictions and working for a scholarship and what an individual can receive screams capitalism😂

Learn the differences, buddy

Revenue is a major part is how much money they’re worth....

Sort of. Value as a concept is really complicated. But whatever the case, their earning potential is limited by what others are willing to offer for their services.

As it stands, colleges offer a scholarship, and the NFL offers nothing until they're out of high school for 3 yrs. But starting next year, kids will have the option to play professionally right out of high school. So if they feel like a scholarship is inadequate compensation, for the first time in ages, there will be somewhere else they can go and market their talents for a better deal.

Good thing or bad?

If you don’t value REAL things, explaining the difference won’t help you BUDDY! Scholarships, tutoring, board, medical care, FOOD, air travel, accommodations on the road, stipends, books, equipment for the games, uniforms and paying everyone who maintains all those, keeping the facilities from falling down on the fans who pay for the games and yes...paying for coaches to train and develop these athletes. Recruiting budget to CONVINCE kids to receive an education that takes a decade to pay back for normal schlubs...and horticulture expenditures to nourish the magic unicorn tree that you socialist hippies shake to make it all work. Thanks BUDDY.

I think a minor league for football will shut this stupidity up. Some kids will do that and make some money, and almost nobody will watch it.

I don't follow UT because of any player, I follow them because I am a Tennessean.
