You call it hatred, I call it a lack of trust that he can get right between the ears. I would love to see it don't get me wrong. I'll eat crow ass for a month and have a big smile on my face.
The guy has been running for his life ever since he's been playing here. An improved OL that can protect him for more than 1-1.5 seconds will improve his mindset.

I just would bet Mauer has a better chance of getting us to 9-3 than JG. Just my opinion right now. Spring ball may change that.
Well, while we're on the QB issue, don't forget Shrout. We need at least 3 good ones in case of unforseen injuries. I say, get all of them ready to play.

hot take of hte day.

brand new incoming freshman, sight unseen, is more capable of getting us to a 9 win season, than 4th year incumbant.

c'mon newt. that's a stretch even for you!!!

Not sure he's RAN that much. My memory says he usually stands there..
It's an expression, you know what I meant. He's not much of a dual threat and, IIRC, he was more of a pro-style QB, coming out of HS anyway.

Regardless, my point remains the same. Give the guy more time and he'll look significantly better.

I wish life had scoreboards above everyone's head counting the number of times they had been wrong about something. A continual tally, to me, would be a much more suitable consequence than a promise to eat a metaphorical crow's metaphorical ass.

Sorry bignewt, this isn't directed at you but you were the most immediate example.

Also, I doubt the big developer in the sky is going to allow me this scope creep.

Not sure why the coach worshippers are so hesitant to put some expectations on their coach.

Given the depth this program has reached, I think expectations need to be tempered with some sense of reality. IMO, going from 5 to 9/10 wins isn't very realistic. I see 7 as being optimistic and somewhat realistic.

Not sure why some idiots just can't wait to bitch at the coaches..

Impatience? They want an elite program and they want it now. Some probably get too wrapped up in the recruiting hype surrounding these kids. I'll say it again....you can't really judge what kind of program Pruitt is capable of building until he gets all the pieces he needs to run in the SEC. Let him graduate his first class....and I consider this class his first...then we will have a fair read on Pruitt.

9-3 is our ceiling imo this year
I’ll still be happy if we’re very competitive against bama and uga if we go 7-5ish
Gotta keep getting better bc 2020 could be the year we stack our roster

I think you mean Wanya Morris, not Crouch, on the OLine. Good point about Kennedy. I also understand that the door may not be totally closed on Smith.

I also didn't mention Solomon on the DLine. I think it would change the whole outlook if he becomes eligible this year.

My point still stands though...Lot's of unknowns. We can project all day long but you really never know what you have as a fan until the pads start popping on Opening day. Excelling in practice does not necessaily translate to a ball game with a real opponent.

Whoops, yes, I meant Morris.

You never know, you get three wishes when you get up there.

Hitting more than one guy in stride (Chandler, Auburn game) would be a step in the right direction. Jump balls won't cut it.
